  1. Mid grade or so copy.  Cover and center attached. Minor creasing and wear. The page color and whiteness of the back cover is not that white in hand. Writing on bottom of first page and marker on back that bleeds through back cover. I'm not sure how bad the writing /marker affects the grade. Maybe it is from a young Frank Miller?  😉

I said that exact name to my friend earlier today.

Exactly! And even if it was, who would care?

So, pardon my ignorance, but why would they even consider this?  Are they just pulling rando nobodies out of their.... er.....ear?  There are a dozen half somebodies they could make a movie with that might move the needle, but they choose some filler goofball?  Heck, the Meteor Man (or Looter if you prefer) has had several appearances over the years.  I'm confused.

  3. I was at home recently, waiting for a package that was out for delivery.  I watched the truck roll up to the mailbox and a couple minutes later he puts items in the box....no packages, and never left the truck.  I went out when he left and found the "sorry we missed you" paper among the mail.  😬😬😬   Yeah, the house is 75 feet from the box but at least make the effort.

  4. A friend notified me of this book for a nice price.  Was supposed to be a VF ish.  I had him grab it for me.  It isn't a VF 😕.  Anyway, it is flat and clean, but it has a couple issues.  A few spine ticks and a small chip on the back bottom.  Still a good deal, just not a really good deal. Whaddayathink?

  5. I have this ASM 39 that I got at a show a while ago.  It has a few issues but it is complete and attached.  A bit of writing on the first page and marker initials the back cover.  I am hoping this came from the Frank Miller Collection!!  There is also a moisture stain that goes through from the back cover through a few pages.  I am thinking 4.0 - 5.0.  Thoughts?  Thanks.

ASM 238 and 239. I mean, I am sure there is some debate about how much insight he had in creating Hobby, or even drawing the cover but for me he did and those are two of the best Spidey covers of the 80s, if not the top 2. Nuff said.

Anything else from JRJR does little for me, even his DD stuff

    ASM #238

Yep....probably my fav Spiderman cover ever. 239 isn't too shabby either.  His style definitely evolved (and in my opinion, not for the better) over the years,  but that is why they make so many different flavors of ice cream.

Nice book!  Where'd you find it?

(I'm new here so if that's not a polite question on the forum my apologies - but just curious if finds like that are still out there.)

A few years ago when I was actively beefing up my under 50 run of ASM, I found this on eBay.  I think I paid about $35 at the time. 😁

haven't been much of a commission guy, but this year I decided to scratch an itch I had to get some work from artists I love (and whose OA is HARD to get).

One piece I commissioned was this killer Batman & Robin from Lee Bermejo. I asked Lee to put his spin on the classic Carmine Infantino image of the Dynamic Duo on a rooftop, patrolling Gotham.

I think he absolutely nailed it -- especially Robin! Can't wait to get this framed.

I picked up this piece from Romeo Tanghal recently. Looks familiar.... I love the colors on mine, and I really like the detail on yours.
