I sent her a note before posting and she replied to me, here is her response:

    Hi Malvin,

Thanks for the email and all your help.

    This is a fraud.

The buyer received his cover this week and lives in California.  Not Florida.  He also sent us an email letting us know about this fraudulent auction.

We reported it last night using the site options and then right now called eBay by phone to report this seller.

We did talk to a real person working for eBay and they said they would investigate so we'll see what happens.

Thanks again for all your help,

That is crazy.  Thanks for bringing this type of stuff to our attention.

Finally back from the framers!  Venomverse 1 -5.  They didn't cut down the signature card like I asked so it left a little more negative space than I would have liked, but still looks great.  If you want to see it in more detail you can go here - http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=1406143

    Thanks!

Another installment of my "Batman and Spectre in a city" commission run, this time from Nick Dragotta (master craftsman of East of West). When Nick offered to do it as two 11x17s across, well, how do you say no?  Many many thanks to Felix for coordinating.  Haven't had a chance to flatten it out, so the joining looks a little severe at the moment...you know what, that is mighty fine with me.

    Great topic.

Pretty much happens with every piece of art I get.

One trick that I use to help avoid the anguish on bigger pieces is asking for a better price.  I ask, and if the seller accepts I buy it. my decision is made for me. If they dont accept - my decision is also made for me and I can move on. My mind is at rest.  There is closure.

Having said all that -sometimes I also like to ask other colectors their opinions if I cant decide what to do.

Ps - the hellshock is awesome!

Im the same way.   But if the piece is still on my mind and I see that it hasn't moved to a new home for a while I sometimes try a 2nd time around.

Just posted the full story over in Comics General in what's new in your collection, but here's the pix. After a year of discussions, I bought the remainder of an original owner's childhood collection. The provenance is a really cool thing; seeing them all together helps me appreciate what it must be like to see a large grouping from one pedigree together. Very cool, experience to work with this gentleman and transition his childhood books to a new home. Reality is I'll keep a few and likely move most, but I will find a way to pass along the provenance.

Should be easy enough as clear, well-placed date stamps and initials "M.R." In blue ink in the lower right margin area of the splash pages are distinguishing features. Cool day  :cloud9:
