  1. Beautiful book, and one of my favorite covers of the late silver/early bronze period. GLWTS!
  2. Oh, for sure, Rich will always be the Nova of my heart, and I think his death was a pretty serious misstep in the setting up of Marvel Cosmic post Annihilation. He was just becoming a major player in his own right when they killed him, and that just felt so silly. I was just trying to make sure that a fellow Nova fan wasn't missing out on the current book on principle, because his return has been pretty good in my own estimation. While I wish Rich had his own book, I'll take him pretty much anywhere I can get him, and I can't say I'm not enjoying the buddy book mentor/protege relationship they're trying to set up now.
  3. No way, there's been some killer stuff since then, stuff like Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest, War of Kings, Bendis, Brubaker, and Waid runs on Daredevil, Brubaker Cap, Tom King's recent Vision stuff, Captain Britain and MI13, Agents of Atlas, so much good stuff, and that's just off the top of my head. On whole their events have been really weak, and the overall direction maybe not the best, but there have definitely been some gems in there. The recent Thunderbolts is... not great. Any of those throwaway titles like Slapstick and Foolkiller have been pretty weak imo.
  4. I agree with you, but I just wanted to say that the new book is basically this exact concept, and I think it's one of the best books being put out by Marvel right now. Seriously 10/10, wonderful art, writing, and book. This is a page from #2 that sort of gives you the flavor of the book if you were interested:
  5. Oh man, when did that happen? I haven't been out there in a bit. Found that guy so helpful and knoweldgable, relaxed. Had all the feel of an old-school store, without any of the standard gatekeeping of old school. Watched that guy give kids free comics left and right, just wanted them to be in the hobby.
  6. Didn't see it mentioned, but for Golden/Silver age there's a great little shop called Barbarian Comics in Wheaton about a half hour north of DC. Place is legit an awesome old school comic shop(long boxes and vintage displays everywhere.) run by a very kind, knoweldgable old-school guy. In DC proper, the vintage pickings are pretty slim...
  7. For modern comics, a good chunk of that run has a some value. Here's a rough price guide and list of estimates for you, including variants. If you were looking to unload the run at a decent price I'd be interested in accquiring a second set. https://comicbookrealm.com/series/28772/0/idw-publishing-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-vol-6 Take care!
  8. Seriously Ghost Town, those are some really beautiful books.
  9. Hero for Hire 48(First meetup between Luke Cage and Iron Fist) Heroes for Hire 50(Official start of Heroes for Hire) You can occasionally find a 9.0 Amazing Adventures 11(First modern Beast) in the ballpark of 200 bucks. X-Men 137(Death of Jean Grey) X-Men 141(Days of Future Past, iconic cover) Iron Fist 1 is currently running a little hot, in my opinion, with all the speculation, but is a good key for the character that can be gotten in that price range. That's what I've got off the top of my head that hasn't been mentioned already.
  10. I'm not sure if this is appropriate for here(if not forgive me and delete it), but I thought you guys might appreciate this. While it's not a comic book, I feel it's hard to doubt my commitment to this character: I got this ink today! Only about halfway through my volume 1 run though.
  11. Did anyone see where this thing was at before it got pulled?
  12. Oh man, these things are beautiful. I really think joining these boards was probably a bad choice in terms of my pocket book... How much did these go for back in the day? I see that you can get one now for about 500 bucks, but do they sell often there?
