  1. Thanks! I’m pretty sure it’s actually the last issue of Devil Dog Dugan, with a title change. Inside are four Devil Dog Dugan stories. The run was already broken up when I got my first shot at these books, or I would have kept all four. Its a tough run to build in nice shape.
  2. Thread is now closed; thank you everyone! For those who would like to see my keepers from Joe Sinnott's personal copies, here they are. I kept the War run because its three consecutive high-grade, late-run issues; the Tell it to the Marines #4 because it's basically the last issue of Devil Dog Dugan; My Own romance and Quick Trigger Western for the late-career Matt Baker work, Battle Action #23 because that guy looks like the late Darren Carerra, friend and owner of the Comics Depot in Saratoga Spring, which was an awesome shop; a few classic covers and Battle Ground #1. I don't know how much more of Joe's Atlas books I'll get a chance at; hoping for some more PCH and early post-code horror, but the intermediary is keeping the sci-fi and most pre-code war. We both doubt the Marvel books leave the family, certainly not anytime soon, though maybe some bronze eventually will be parted with. Just our guess.
  3. Three books left: Page 11 - Kid Colt Outlaw #90 GVG — $50 to JimJum12’s PayPal; receive free shipping on your stack. Page 12 - Battle #27 FN- $200 Astonishing #11 VG+ $300
  4. @comicnoir Ron please note that is some sort of smudge atop the Spellbound, not a blurry pic. If you did not realize, OK to pass. I did account for it in giving it the grade.
  5. Ok Boardieland, that is everything! 47 Joe Sinnott personal copies from his Atlas days! I hope everyone has enjoyed this. I’ll keep it open a day or so and then get PM’s out to takers. Thank you to all takers, lookers, etc. I’m glad to share these, and I’m glad it gave the boards a fun hangout for the week!
  6. Astonishing #11 they have it at VGFN. I’m more VG + as cover has some light soiling. Again, not a comp book. 21 on census, line 8.5 atop. $300
  7. SOLD! Spellbound #9 in VG/VG+ Note lower right corner piece of cover missing. 11 on census. Two at 8.0. $300
  8. Last two…Joe’s PCH work, which I only got a bit of offered to me thus far. We don’t think either is a comp book. They seem to be back issues he acquired.
  9. I should have added — the Battle #31 and #33 are both definitely comp copies.
  10. SOLD! Battle #33 again, they went FVF. I feel better saying VF- here. Only two on census, and both are comps: 5.5 slightly brittle sold for $204 in 2023; 8.5 (which I think used to be an 8.0) sold $1320 in March. This is between the two. I doubt it catches the 8.5. $400
  11. SOLD! Battle #31 — now I remember why this was in my possible keeper pile. Russ Heath cover for Atlas, and I thought they were somewhat undergraded at FVF. On second glance, they may be right, but VF minus also possible I think. A VG just sold on eBay for $48.87. 11 on census, 8.5 at top. $200
  12. Battle #27 they’ve got this in VGFN. I’d go FN- Very high gloss, some wear at spine near top staple. We lean toward thinking this one is a comp copy but not 100% certain. It’s awful nice to have sat in a dealer box for years. More likely a comp with that gloss. Joe was plucking his comps from a wire rack; I’m surprised there’s not more like this in my sample. Seven on census, 8.0 is tops. $200
  13. Three pre-code war, two PCH, we’re wrapped in five more….
  14. SOLD! Rawhide Kid #28 maybe VG, tops. Another he filled in as a back issue, opposed to got as a comp. $40
  15. He noted “pencils” on a lot of the Charltons, where Vinny Colletta inked everything Joe did as art director of that shoestring operation.
  16. Ok, first one is not a comp copy, but obtained as a back issue by Joe and/or his son to fill out their archive of his work. It was also offered in the thread to help with Jimbo’s stroke recovery costs and went untaken, so it will be offered for Jimbo here. Kid Colt #90 GVG at best. But two Sinnott sigs. $50 to JimJum12’s PayPal, and you get this added to your stack, and your stack ships for free.
  17. Ok, last seven. Might be a little slower between each, more diversity and less preparedness.
  18. Back from ice cream I didn’t need! Gimme maybe 15 minutes for a few pix not yet shot.
