  1. SOLD! Marines in Action #13 with VFNM structure, light cover tanning inside. Two on census, 7.5 at tops. This one should smoke a 7.5. No comps to be found. $400
  2. Slight price and grade drop just now FYI on Marines in Action #7 as I feel the subtle flaws are not that well-captured in the pics despite my efforts.
  3. Marines in Action #7 in VF range. I’m going to disagree with their grade here and say it’s more VF- structure with even tanning inside covers (lightly creamy). No comps, two on census. 6.0 is tops. $250
  4. SOLD! Marines at War #7 in VG/FN. Brought down to that neighborhood by that lower right long color-breaking crease. Four on census, top not that much better at 7.5. $60
  5. TheComicsPreacher surrenders to the sultry allure of Battle #65! Thank you Nate!
  6. OK, 10 more tonight but here's a quick rundown of the nine books still available in the thread: Page 1: Western Gunfighters #25 VF/VF+ $250 Wyatt Earp #23 FVF or better $200 Page 2: Western Outlaws #21 VF or better $250 Gunsmoke Western #52 VF or better $250 Gunsmoke Western #70 FN $100 Kid Colt Outlaw #83 VF or better $200 Page 5: Battle #63 VF $300 Page 6: Battle Ground #8 VF $350 Page 7: War #33 FN- $150
  7. Thank you. My journey was similar, except I've never had the brains to pull the trigger on an FF#5. I probably read some of his Atlas stuff in those 70's reprint titles Marvel did without realizing it was him.
  8. Sheer blinding brilliance to create this thread! Bravo and thank you!
  9. Gunsmoke Western #40 has been claimed privately via PM! Thank you Mysterious Stranger!
  10. Nah, you nailed the sarc alright, it just also prompted me! Joe was a great guy and I’m happy to have a part in keeping his legacy out there in the hobby’s eyes.
  11. Joe never did Aquaman to my knowledge (though he lived about 20 minutes from Ramona Fradon) but he did a heckuva job on Namor. Yeah it’s Perlin pencils but that Namor just screams Sinnott.
  12. Okay, that’s it for tonight. 10 Marines books tomorrow night, and a couple stragglers on Wednesday evening. Thank you everyone for the takes and festivities!
  13. War #33 in FN- Looks FVF or better from front but I don’t like the top staple tears and small spine flaws. Nine on census with a 7.5 at top. HA sold a raw VF- for $300 this year. $150
  14. Okay, one more for tonight then I will wrap up the planned books tomorrow night with the various Marines titles still to come. I will take one more hard look at my keepers before closing the thread, and I might have a small addendum the following night after keeper review, plus a couple other of Joe’s signed file books that are not as high-grade and likely came to him as back issues, not as Atlas office newsstand comps. But two of those are PCH books
  15. SOLD! Battle Ground #18. The Sinnotts’ friend who helped the family grade these had this at VFNM, and structurally I concur. Please note though slight dust shadow on back, looks to be from uneven stacking? That said, a census ghost and no comps to be found. $400
  16. It’s definitely the closest I’ve seen in a while, probably since a Rick and Comcav romance shootout a while back…
  17. Battle Ground #17 goes to October! Thanks and congrats, Andy! I had to go to the laptop to double-check as @buttock was very close, but both iPad and laptop are showing Andy first. Sorry Dan.
  18. SOLD! Battle Ground #17 in VFNM. Two on census, topped by an 8.5. The 7.5 sold on HA in 2023 for $216. $400
  19. SOLD! Battle Ground #15 in VF. Note lower corners. Two on census, topped by a 7.0. $350
