We stopped in at a Mcd's when we were on a trip, and they had a special on 20 piece mcnuggets.  My wife and I figured we'd split it and give the rest to the dog.  We all got sick, including the dog.

From McNugget to must plug it

You are right about the FF link.  Actually, the models do not seem linked to comics at all.  I should have pointed out that these are small.  The images do not show the proportion well.  Those pieces are 4 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches with the planes being around 3 inches in length.  The models do not look like they were attached to the comics - just stuck in the centerfold I guess.  I was just tickled to see they were still there when I got the books.  I assumed they were long gone so that was a very nice bonus when I unpacked the lot.

I bought both issues for the toys as I recall, so the marketing ploy worked. Free gifts in comics always went down well over here, even though many resulted in butchered books. I remember the back covers of both issues too. Funny what stays with you isn't it.

Just wondering, Steve. When you look at eBay Oz from the UK, can you see the items that aren't available for international shipping? I've tried searching UK eBay for Australian GA books and I only ever see ones that will ship here - which I'm pretty sure isn't all of them.

    Sorry Andy, I didn't get a notification you'd posted.

eBay searches can be erratic, but I do get them as a rule, yes. When looking for AUS copies on eBay.com.au I select 'Australia Only' and it works:

Having spoken to a few people about this kind of thing I do think that search results vary widely depending on which country you are in. Maybe Australia has some kind of block in place. We should try duplicate searches next time we're both online, and compare the results.

A mate of mine had about 10 Silver Surfer #50 when he was selling at a con here in Sydney, I was helping him with his stall but didn't even think to buy one, they all sold out quickly

Being in England, I can only get a feel for their availability from eBay and a few other sites. They may be plentiful in Australia but I suspect a few titles may be hard to come by even on home soil. There are parallels to the UK price variants - many of those are scarce to non-existent over here, especially for the lesser collected publishers.  Someone is likely cleaning up I'll bet.

Surprised I'm the first to comment here...

Thanks, Steve & well done for all your hard work on this. I've enjoyed watching your research develop over the past couple of years. This will prove to be an important addition to our hobby. Can't wait for the article in Overstreet!

    Chin, chin!

    :golfclap:

Cheers Linda. Less of an article, more of an addition to John McClures market report. Gotta start somewhere...
