I thought the 3 Bagley Spider-Man pages on Sunday were cheap given how expensive his Spidey art has gotten. On the other hand, this Superboy cover selling for $40k is absolutely insane. I realize there are some crazy Legion collectors out there, but even $10k for this seems like too much.

That’s impossible! You can clearly see the MSRP is $2,000.

This one came back to Heritage again. I’m guessing the next step is back to Dueling Dealers for $6k?

As I watched the impressive prices that Dave Mandel’s art was selling for, I kept thinking back to Felix’s podcast where Dave ended the description of each piece by saying “I’ve got ten of these, and this is the worst one.”

Wow, $102k for the Quesada Daredevil cover. At this rate, Mandel is going to have enough money for another X-Wing by the end of the auction.

It was briefly up for sale in the CAF classifieds for $2,750 a few months ago. I don’t know if the seller took it down and sent it to Heritage or if it’s going to be a really profitable flip for someone.

The older DC art did poorly. The Justice League 29 splash sold for $50,400 in the Jan 2021 Heritage auction vs. $36k today. The Hawkman 3 cover and Brave and the Bold 35 splash each sold for $36k in the November 2019 auction vs. $36k and $28,800 today. Hawkman is definitely on the wrong side of the generational shift.

Does it count as a flip if Anthony takes something off his own website and marks it up another 90% for Dueling Dealers?

This Dodson Justice League cover was in the CAF classifieds for $1,750. It was then sold/traded to Anthony who listed it for $4,500. Sold last night for $1,302.
