Books you just cant find in the Wild
Okeydoke replied to fastballspecial's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Cankor is great! I got lucky and a Half Price Books had several copies of the first 2 issues of the original series...in the clearance bin. I never heard of it but I bought them all at 50 cents each. I've since sold them for around $100 a pop. I also have several of Cankor's Calamity of Challenge #1 (regular cover) and picked up several copies of an insane mini comic Matthew Allison did called Sweet Sepulcher! Great comics and very rare apparently. -

I had a Wolverine #75 with a Gold hologram. It was a deep gold color very distinguishable fro the yellow/green. Sold it for $200. I've seen many copies of all the various colors but that was the only gold one I've ever seen. I know I have a pic of it on my home PC. I'll post it when I find it. -

Values seem to be all over the place. I pulled 3 high grade bagged copies out of a 25 cent bin 2 days ago.

First Appearance: Batman who laughs???
Okeydoke replied to combiner1's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
The Metal #2 looks like more of a cameo appearance...It should get some cred, but TT12 is a full appearance where he is actually interacting in the story, plus being on the cover is a biggie. Those who are clamoring for Metal #2 to be the official CGC first appearance have likely invested in Metal #2, which is still a legitimate book...just not as much as TT12. I had a TT12, which I sold. So I have no horse in this race. -

Any bets on the garbage lady Jadis becoming Alpha? She seems unhinged enough to put zombie skins on. -

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

I love Keown Hulk too..IMO he is the best Hulk artist. His stuff with Peter David on that title in the 90's was incredible. This particular cover isn't my favorite though. He's capable of much better. -

This Daredame cover is not PC these days...the innuendo's with the tail... ...and instead of the "Man without Fear!" it's the "Woman without a Brassiere!" omg.

Why be facetious when someone has a legit question?...Geeze guys. In all seriousness, that's an awesome Jim Lee cover and worthy of hanging on a wall. -First remove the cover from the book by bending the staples in the centerfold out, then carefully pulling the cover from the book. The monetary value of the book is much less than the artistic value so replacing the book is cheap. I see them all the time in .25 and .50 boxes. -I'd mount it on a board cut several inches larger than the cover on each side. Black or red board would look nice with this cover. -Position the cover centered on the board (use a ruler to be sure it's even). -While holding it in it's position bend one side of the cover over and add an adhesive to that back side of the cover. A very small amount of glue would work but I'd probably use double-sided tape. -Press the adhered side onto the board. Repeat for the center and other side of the cover, making sure the cover is still in a centered position on the board. -To hang the mounted cover on the wall I'd use adhesive wall hangers.
