  1. book is incomplete. Affects the grade a lot.
  2. not worth the time or effort. Another comic seller that has heard comics are more valuable than gold.
  3. does anyone know? The $399.00 Photobucket is asking for a year, can I pay it monthly or is it all a one time annual fee? I am all about time. I rarely have any free time, and I might be willing to pay the cost monthly to save the time and hassle of downloading thousands of images from greedy Photobucket.
  4. Nothing that I see stands out at all and this is dollar bin books. If I buy it at all the most I pay is 10 cents a book. Call it $30 a long, $80.00 - $90.00 max.
  5. It is also the prevailing belief that the books on the wall are "expensive" The average con attendee is not incorrect in that thought, what they know less about is market value. So to that end they likely stick to the deals in the boxes.
  6. I agree! I think members of this forum are different from the general comic con attendee though.
  7. as I expected. the most interesting comment to me is that so few looked at the wall. sometimes I feel the same about our wall.
  8. how much does the typical comic weigh? I don't have my scale in front of me...
  9. agreed. I wouldn't bother encapsulating.
  10. Is that the way the building looked in the film? I don't recall seeing the Man-Thing, in that spot was the champion Hulk's face (what I remember seeing). Or am I losing it?
  11. My understanding is that eGerber fullbacks and a mylite 2 is completely archival and you wont need to change them at all after.
  12. I saw the film this evening. I enjoyed it, yes lots of laughs. I really did want to see a well made Planet Hulk movie now I know I never will. Oh well. I give it 6.5 - 7.0 out of 10.
  13. I agree with you. That said perhaps not including the detailed graders notes is also a way of hiding internal defects. I had a Startling Terror Tales 11 that presents beautifully, yet only graded as a 4.5 due to back cover pieces missing and an interior page that looks like someone spilled their spaghetti all over it. To me this defect should be disclosed on the label. From this point forward I may be the only person who knows that defect is there because I am the original submitter. Not disclosing is = to misrepresenting as well.
  14. Here is another example of noting interior defects on the label: I do have a strong opinion that I think the graders notes should be on the label. Perhaps it could be on the back of the label in place of all the legal jargon CGC puts there.
  15. I am reading Comic Book Fever: celebrating comics from 1976-1986. A great book with lots of internal information about a period of time in comicbooks that I am very fond of: 1976-1986. Ideally I started buying comics earlier, but that time period is when I was in full swing using the money I earned from delivering 2 paper routes. I highly recommend the book, great reading!
  16. Thanks! it is also very high grade, with very bright colors ( especially on the inside cover ) and the structure is exceptional. Razor sharp corners and zero spine dings. I argue it may be the highest grade copy out there, but I don't send it in because the off-set printing error books get qualified label.
  17. agreed! I recently purchased the blue-ray, looking forward to another viewing.
  18. my personal favorite for printing error. It has a double cover, and the color printing is off register.
  19. some of the comments have me worried as I will be seeing this film this evening. Going to go into it with low expectations.
  20. My rack doesn't have this and I have tried to get something that will work. I had a board member offer to send me one but it never happened. I have wondered if one of these would work: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/3-4-6-Inch-Square-Lazy-Susan-Turntable-Bearing-for-Turntable-TV-Rack-Desk/232278589901?hash=item3614e201cd:m:mjBXh3AzDTMjEcBVR7WXKlw The smallest one is 3 inches wide. All I need to know is the diameter of the center hole, to allow the comic rack base pole part to go through. ***edit. So the interior diameter is 1 and a quarter inches. The post of my comic rack is 1 inch so it fits inside the bearing. I managed to find one of these bearings at the local Home Depot for $4.00 so I bought it and gave it a try. Works great! My Spinner spins again!
  21. Interesting. Now I am wondering; as long as CGC witnesses the signature it appears it doesn`t matter where the signature is. Therefore, I could have the signor open the book and sign at the bottom of the splash page. Has anyone seen a book signature series with the signature inside the book
