  1. Pretty sure it has shifted. Can that be done with pressing or would the staples or staple need to be removed?
  2. So glad that guy wouldn't climb the ladder to get those Captain Marvels.
  3. I've been working on a little list of the chronological order of each patriotic hero's release date. Aside from The Shield it does seem rather quick how immediately after the release of Cap 1 how many others showed up. One might think that Captain America was such a success that other writers, artists, publishers just jumped on the patriotic hero band wagon, kind of like they did after Superman hit the scene. With Sup it took a few months, even a year before they realized just how big he was . With Cap it was immediate, within a few months almost every publisher had a patriot. Minute Man in Master Comics 11 came out the same month as Cap. And the US wasn't even in the war yet. I think a lot of people in the USA weren't too keen on the US even getting involved, especially before Pearl Harbor. So yeah, it does seem like something else was in play other than just wanting to increase comic sales with a cool new red white and blue uniformed hero.
  4. Oh now I gotta go read it. https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=28024 Not bad, monster got loose but they killed it. Dr. Mortal got taken to headquarters to answer some questions.
  5. I know! Shooting a harmless old man in the back like that.
  6. That's good advice but if I did that I wouldn't be able to look at myself in the mirror ever again. And it's already hard enough as it is.
  7. I thought mine was too. I figured it was just automatic on windows. I did find a discussion about the problem on the innernet and a lot of people said they had the same problem so either it is real thing or all of their computer clock aren't set right.
  8. I figured out the problem. I do suggest you should all check this out. My computer was 14.9 seconds off according to this neat website https://time.is/ So I believe what happens is that the auction page shows the exact time to the second, but when you click "place bid" that timer is showing the time of your computer. I adjusted my pc to be 0.9 seconds ahead, closest I could get it after a few tries. Now the pop up box time and the auction page time are in synch.
  9. Hi everyone, Hoping I can get a little help on this. I won a book on e bay last night. First time I bid on anything on that site in a short while. When I clicked on place bid, a box to place bid into pops up dead center of the page blocking the actual countdown timer, current price, ect. The box can't be moved with the mouse so you can't see any of the necessary info. Only thing, the countdown timer in this box which you need to enter your bid is about 15 seconds ahead of the actual real time of the auction. I believe this cost me about 400 dollars last night as 5 more bids were able to register after I bid, which I thought was in the last 5 seconds of the auction when in reality there was about 20 seconds left. I just tested it on 2 different browsers on auctions I'm not bidding on and it's the same. Also when I click place bid and the new place bid box pops up dead center blocking the accurate timer, if you let that box run down to Zero it refreshes the page, giving you just seconds to click place bid again, wait a second for the new box to pop up and type your bid amount then enter it. Last I remember I always would type my max bid in the original auction page, wait for the timer to get to about 8 seconds left then click enter and hope for the best. Simple. Effective. Could any of you test this out for me and see if it's the same on your browser please? You don't have to enter a bid just see if the same thing happens like I explained. I tried Opera and Chrome, the same stuff happens on both. I doubt it is a browser problem but maybe there is a browser that still does it the old way. Thank you
  10. Yep...........let me just go ahead and fix that.

  12. Wow Gino that is really cool. How did they know to find you? Those three books are really tough to find, especially the Our Flag. Thanks for posting all those. So The Red Cross can be found in Captain Aero and Pat Parker only in Speed? Love that Our Flag cover. He leaves a Red White and Blue trail behind. So cool. The Man of War is a neat one too. I just saw there is a variant cover. Well I'll be.
  13. Hi Everyone, I bought this book for 15 American dollars. Little disappointed because I was hoping there'd be more pictures of covers and also more of a complete list of all patriotic heroes. It's mostly interior stories which is fine. I'm hoping here maybe between all of us we could create a definitive Golden Age patriotic hero list. Shouldn't be too difficult, but there are some very short lived ones. Even non USA patriotic heroes also. Off the top of my head here are some, but I know I am missing a lot. The Shield, Captain America, Uncle Sam, U.S. Jones, The Eagle (Fox), Fighting Yank, Major Victory, Miss America, American Crusader, Captain Battle, The Conqueror (Hillman), Star Spangled Kid, The Super American, The Flag, Captain Victory, Captain Courageous, Liberator, American Eagle, Captain Freedom, Liberty Belle, The Patriot (Timely), Miss Victory. I know there are many more many of which never made it to a cover.
  14. I hope there are more. At least once a year. I was assuming all or most of the books in the auction were from a single collection. Not sure and it doesn't matter if this was the case, I'm just glad they had it. It was enjoyable.
  15. I check the GA listings a few times a day sorted by newest, hoping to find something I'd like at a fair price. About once a year I actually find one. I see a lot of overpriced to the point of ridiculousness stuff but not enough photocopy books to really get in the way. Even if e bay made a separate section for them people would still post them in the GA section. On a side note Buy it Now is pretty much dead and buried at this point. A good auction though does come around once in a while.
  16. Oh you got that? Really fine artwork on that cover.
  17. Foxhole 1 went for a little more than I thought it would. I like Foxhole 2 a little better. Bid it up to around 2,200 and change then there was a pause. The timer almost ran down, Then bang , a slew of bids. The 2.0 #4 almost went for as much as the 1 and 2. I guess if they were all 4.5's the #4 would have went for the most, followed by the #2 and coming in 3rd the #1.
  18. On the back cover of Punch 1 (Dec. 1941) it shows these titles. Scoop, Dynamic and Yankee were already released by the time Punch 1 came out. Kayo Comics didn't come out until 1945 from what I see. Bulls Eye not until 1944. I don't think Major Comics, World's Greatest Comics, or ABC Comics (America's Best Comics) were ever released. Perhaps Major Comics was changed to Major Victory? Maybe the other two titles were changed or just scrapped? Who would care to educate me on this? Edit: I found this statement on the Grand Comics Database- Some form of a "World's Greatest Comics" rectangular logo appeared throughout Chesler's second main comic book publishing venture (1941-1946), sometimes alone but most often with one or two other branding elements.
  19. My goodness. I remember when that one came out but never played it much ( it came out at the end of my arcade years). I just read it's regarded by many to be the best pinball machine of all time. And there you are with the original art. Pure Awesomeness
  20. Gorgar! Do you have that machine? One of the best ,coolest pinballs ever. The surface on that one is in beautiful condition.
  21. Well 132 is pretty extreme and I'm thinking it's gonna have a tough time even topping 100 this time. But 35,000? In this day and age?
