  1. Wow I never noticed the Confessions of Romance books. I confess. Confessions of Love and the other Star Romance titles of course but Confessions of Romance is new to me. 3
  2. Yes of course I'm sure. Basically I mean in 15 years a 1 million dollar book has become a let's say 4 million dollar book, and that's being conservative I think. What I meant was would it be realistic to think that 4 million dollar book in 2024 will be a 16 milllon dollar book in 2040. I think, and I could be wrong, but the days of these mega books multiplying in value like that are probably gone. At some point the summit will be reached.
  3. Don't laugh it isn't funny. Ok it's kinda funny. I'd love to see that Larson. I'd probably take aone tier drop in grade just to see his name on the cover. I didn't know this current 8.5 sold for 3.25 , still seems cheap to me. And I like the other 8.5 better too but the colors on that scan looks too good to be true. That is bright.
  4. Oh! Yeah the other 8.5 that sold in 2018 looks nicer no doubt, at least to the eyes of this beholder. I know it's all a matter of perspective but going back 14 years when it sold for ONE MILLION DOLLARS and going back 6 years when the other 8.5 sold for 2 million I think it would have been realistic to believe the book will go up in value. At this point not sure if it's realistic to believe that if one were to pay 5 or 6 million for it that it will go up much more than that at least in "our lifetimes" at least. Whatever, awesome book. I too can't wait to watch it unfold live.
  5. The other 8.5 in 2018. https://www.comicconnect.com/item/755769 Wouldn't be surprised if this one comes around again in the not so distant future. Probably double their money no prob.
  6. Hey Bat, yeah I couldn't find a good picture yet either. Is that a screenshot of the fancy little video? So the last real high grade AC 1 was the other 8.5 in 2018. Then there was the rocket stamp 6.0 two years back.
  7. Action Comics 1 8.5 Kansas City pedigree. https://www.instagram.com/p/C20GHvCRd3m/ https://www.facebook.com/reel/878368844026317
  8. Teenage Dope Slaves, Teenage Dope Slaves, Teenage Dope Slaves oh yeah, Teenage Dope Slaves.
  9. Wow what a great painting. Such fine detail. The rain, the wind, the trees blowing, the rough ocean, the snapped branch, her tattered red dress, even the heart shaped center of the word Love. I'm in a tizzy. Me too on that first part. I guess it was the highest graded copy that drove it up. Plus it was from blissard and he has lots of eyes on his stuff. Most likely there are nicer copies in the wild I would think. Whaddya think?
  10. Thought I had this with a 456.00 bid with a few seconds left. Highest graded of only four graded copies. 2 people wanted it more . Bummer man. Anyway, thought it was a neat book. Anyone besides Robot Man have this one?
  11. I just noticed this one. From 1972. At least they didn't call it Negro Laughter so that's good.
  12. I guess even in the world of talking cartoon animals donkey's and horse's still get no respect.
  13. Interesting stuff. I wonder how Charlton got their hands on it. And why. Maybe they just wanted to see how it would sell. Most websites don't have it listed as being part of the regular series. Comiclink sold one a few years back. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?id=1396603 The most info I could find was from the nice folks at MCS. But it's not much. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=360171
  14. Why is Negro romance 4 so expensive? Did Bill Cosby buy them all up? But seriously that's a lot of money.
  15. Hard to say. A 2.5 went for 4,080 in January of 23 also on HA. Compared to that 7,200 for a nice looking 4.0 ain't bad I guess. I thought I've seen it come around more than this list shows but I must have been hallucinating.
  16. One of my several near death experiences was from a big falling tree during a freak wind storm once. Missed me by about 20 feet. But that's got nothing to do with comics. The thing that always stood out to me on that book is the Blazing Death frame. Blazing Death, sounds gruesome.
  17. Oh, It's a possibility. Probably a probability. Or a darn good excuse to regrade a book from F/VF to NM. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it had a real good press and was cleaned up a bit. Still doesn't look 9.4 to me but I'm not a trained and qualified grader. It looks better than 7.0 I'll give it that. Teen Titans 14 9.8 for over 20,000? 2 on the census. My 9.2 sold for 149.00 bucks a few months ago with better page quality and a pedigree to boot.. 150X less than the 9.8 Better call Giunness because that has to be a world record grade bump. Nice copy though, I'll even call it real beauty. They sure were strict back then.
  18. Ah, I knew there had to be a reasonable explanation. Grade lowered because of the word Okajima written on it? I want that grader fired!
  19. Biggest grade bump I ever seeen. 2 tier bump I can see sometimes, like the Crowly Power #3 former 5.5 now 7.5 that sold again in the same auction. Sure it looked undergraded at 5.5. But a 7.0 morphed into a 9.4? What are the implications of CGC's accuracy, competence, and/or credibility when one see's something like this? Back when CGC became a thing I was really agianst it. For years. I felt this way for reasons I won't get into because who really care's what some guy in the innernet thinks. No offense to the business or the graders but when we see this kind of stuff what are we to think?
  20. Well I've concluded that although Heritage more consistently has great stuff compared to their competition it's gotten to the point where if you want something you need to come to terms with the harsh reality that you're going to have to pay out the wazoo for it. Much more often than not. Golden age at least.
  21. I agree. I was only addressing the legal aspect of it regarding a buyer getting their money back if they found restoration on a book they bought at some point after the sale. It would be difficult, especially if some time has passed since the sale. That's all. That was my only point.
