  1. Batman is trying to grab Wonder Woman's boobs. Who wouldn't What boobs?
  2. Yeah. Especially when I started out, all I wanted was a high grade Bats 232. Now sure how I wounded up chasing every book with Bats drawn by Adams.
  3. The final book in my Adams Bats collection. Wasn't looking for a super high grade. This 8.0 ow/w is more than enough to close the books on this run for me.
  4. Man. Now I know who's been outbidding me each and every damn time!
  5. Ardvarks are good eating. That aside, I'm much rather have a Hulk 181. Had a beautiful copy back in the day 30 years ago. Would love to own another copy again some day.
  6. Just an update on my pre-order for the re-issue Harley Arkham City SDCC limited ed. The seller never came through and a bunch of us who placed orders had to file a claim against him through eBay. What a shame. Was really looking forward to having this full color version next to my original issue Harley. Oh well. On that note, I found another original issue Harley AC statue at a LCS. It was new and in the display case. The shop was still selling it at the normal retail price of $125 and not the inflated prices of $250-300 you see over at eBay. I already have one so I didn't pick it up, but if anyone here is interested, PM me and I'll send you the shop's number. The seller does put up books from time to time on eBay, but has never bothered to list any of his statues.
  7. I collected when I was a teen and sold off my collection when I graduated highschool back in '83. Had a pretty good stockpile of BA gems too (i.e. WBN 32, GS X-Men 1, Hulk 181, Conan 1, etc..). About 2500 comics in all. Ironically, I wounded up working in a comic shop for over a year right after that before leaving for the Marines in '85. Pretty much thought I'd put comics behind me at that time. About four years ago, I really got into Batman Arkham Asylum. The game just blew me away. It was then that I decided I wanted to capture a very small piece of my childhood. Batman 232 was one favorites back in the day. I grew up reading and loving the O'Neil/Adams run in the early '70s and I remember having a real beaut of a copy. Anyway, I set out to only buy one comic, a high grade Bats 232. I picked up a 9.4 with OW/W pages. Next thing I knew, I wounded up buying all the Adams Bats and other Bats from that time frame too. All the early Conans came later as I was a big sword and sorcery fan back in the day as well. Luckily, I have a fairly tolerant wife.
  8. The problem with Shang-Chi is that he is a character that is essentially tied to Fu Manchu. Due to the politcal climate these days when it comes to ethnic sensitivity, the estate that owns the rights to that character is not willing to let it go to anyone any more. Without the backdrop of the good doctor, you really don't have much to build on in either new comics or the movies. Just Shang-Chi alone is not going to cut it. Marvel can't even publish in trade the great Gulacy run from the '70s. That arc was epic and if you wanted to read it, you're limited to back issues.
  9. I picked up this entire lot for $100 from a guy last month who was just trying to get rid of the stuff. Not high grade, but a very nice copy of BZ #1 nevertheless (BZ #2 is about VF+). Couldn't be happier.
  10. Well, just an update for me. The seller I pre-ordered the new Arkham City Harley from never came through on the deal. Had to file a claim with eBay to get my money back. Looks like he failed to come through for everyone else who pre-ordered through him. Bummer. Well, at least I still have the original one.
  11. I've very few Copper age books in my collection, but I'm happy to finally have these included.
  12. Met O'Barr at Heroes Con1994. This year was undoubtedly the highlight of his fame. New Crow movie came out... all kinds of merchandising $$$ to be made by him... everyone wanted to meet him... ... and it felt like he hated every minute of it. I mean he wasn't rude or mean... just that he really would have been happier if his book hadn't have taken off. If that makes any sense I asked him to sign a Crow movie and please personalize it to one of my friends as a gift... He said (in his vampire-ish voice)... " I will sign it any way you so desire " If this was back in '94, then that was probably the worst time to catch him. He mentioned in an interview, he was really upset and depressed about Brandon Lee's death and didn't feel right at all making all the new money that came along with the notoriety. Even mentioned that he gave his share of the movie profits away.
  13. Well. At least we know Sonja's a real redhead.
  14. A lot of creators, actors and athletes can be real sphincters. This is why I tend to avoid most of them. Love and appreciate the work, not the man (or woman for that matter).
  15. Pretty awesome stuff. The typewriter in that second page looks way out of place without the context of the story, but it still looks great. I'm assuming this was told in flashback from a modern perspective. I only have the first trade of Dark Horse's Hour of Dragon and don't remember seeing that.
  16. Didn't expect to win this. Had what I thought was just a tracker bid. Was surprised to find that I had actually won this for $90 ($107 w/fees) this morning.
  17. A very underrated book. Congrats. No BA Bats collection is complete without it in my opinion.
  18. Beautiful copy. Presentation is great. Congrats.

    Gotham

The actress playing Selina is supposed to be the same age as the other child characters. She just looks older in some shots.
  20. Not a huge Howie fan, but I did buy the title when it was out. I especially loved the earlier Brunner drawn stories from 1 and 2 (as well as the ones in GS Man-Thing 4 and 5). Anyway, got a killer deal on the entire run including the annual at a LCS. Didn't go in there intentionally looking for Howie. Just something I stumbled into. The #1 are probably 8.0 and 8.5 conservatively. The rest of the run ranges from VF to VF/NM. All W pages.
  21. Yep. "Shortly" as in "now". PRESALE $220. Some items just have "secondary market" written all over them. Harley Quinn is a secondary market monster. Basically, all of the smaller scale HQ stuff doubles or triples retail within a few months of being sold-out. I pre-ordered mine for $169 shipped a couple of months ago. It'll look nice next to the original. I got that one for only $80 last year.
