  1. There is a 9.0 listed on Ebay ATM, sharp minus the right edge chip.
  2. I never took the book in the thread , seller continued to sell it in marketplace , and EBAY . Then threatened to add me to this list if u did not pay for the book plus their “expenses” seller sold book on eBay , I am not sure what they are trying us accomplish here besides berating me further as they spammed me constantly since I inception of transaction . If this is the way this board utilizes it’s tools they should be ashamed . I have never had such a terrible transaction with a seller in my entire collecting hobby ,I would highly recommend avoiding member . This will be my last post on this matter
  3. What about CCS? Can a book be submitted for pressing , etc , and then graded at a discount?
  4. That is one SHARP 33, one of the nicer ones I have seen structurally wise. WOWSA! :P Thanks for sharing!
  5. I have seen many 9.8's of this book without this defect, that looked flawless. CGC has only given 2 9.9's to SA ASM'S and both copies (19,73) deserved every bit of the grade. I do not believe it would be very easy to get a 9.9 on a 33 as there are so MANY graded copies out there and 10X that many in the raw. I would not waste your money on grader notes, as I would wager that there aren't any as typical with most 9.8's. The staples are the bigger issue on it , might post the front cover :P , one of my favorites. Congrats on such a beautiful copy!
  6. Its a home made printed copy that I hope is not trying to be passed of as an original , seems like a shady way to ask .
  7. Things that make me go hmmmm... 9.4? https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/the-amazing-spider-man-6-marvel-1963-cgc-nm-94-off-white-to-white-pages/a/7189-91116.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 With that pre marvel chipping and pieces out of the right cover edge I would not grade that higher then a 9.0 Here is my 9.4 for comparison Frustrating as it seems this is becoming a pretty HOT book and I thought one had surfaced with great color until i looked at the scan closer. Thoughts?
  8. Yes you are right, I looked at it again today and I think I was a little harsh on it. After looking at some of the high grade ASM'S they have listed with pretty substantial pre marvel chipping and pieces missing
  9. It sold a few months ago, Filter81 was consigning it. On another note, does being a former CGC grader get privileges? https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/amazing-fantasy-15-marvel-1962-cgc-fn-60-off-white-pages/a/7189-91107.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Great eye appeal , but very overgraded....... That is a pretty large piece out of the corner for a FN copy IMHO. I guess perhaps all the marvel chipped copies technically have more missing or as much .. Thoughts? I noticed this looking through all the marvel chipped ASM's that someone is offloading at a premium, anyone bidding on this auction might look very closely at the high res scans, And stay the heck away from the books I am after :P
  10. Perhaps, just in my experience coverless copies are more abundant then covers with the attributes to be able to be married. I think Filter81's 3.0 was in the 12k market. Pretty reasonable for a sharp looking 3.0 these days if you look what that NG is going for.
  11. Filter81 had a couple lower grade married cover books he consigned to Metro at one point, a very presentable 1.5 and 3.0 if I recall , you might ask him. Would save you from having to locate a cover and have the work done. Just my.02
  12. Looks like it could go either way, and I have had many books come back a grade lower from resubmissions. The defects in this range and the 8.5-9.2 are very tight with CGC in my experience . If it is still slabbed I would keep it that way and sell it as a 8.0 in a 7.5 holder, perhaps with a CVA sticker
  13. I think goblin issues in general have been pretty level for awhile, unless they are the rare unicorn sightings like a 9.8 14. 17 has been on low end for many years unless it is in 9.6. 23 hit or miss in lower grades, strong in NM- or better, 26, 27 spiked quite a few years ago up to 5k+ for a 9.6 , flattened out and are "trying" to reach that same level again , haven't seen it. 121 9.8's still have a little room , I think this will be a steady 5k book relatively soon 122's not so much, look for these to drop a little. Short answer is I don't see it affecting anything , as we really haven't seen a goblin market spike for any reason, including some pretty heavily hyped movies, etc... Long answer is if anyone wants to unload their high grade goblin keys because of this I am happy to purchase them .
  14. Honestly I would put ALL ultra high grade pre 66 ASM in the throw out the guide category that was essentially what I meant by my previous posts. I don't think 3 in NM or better achieves the same multiples as 2 and 4 but I could be mistaken, just basing that on my prior purchases. I purchased a 9.6 back in 2000 for under 20 and sold a 9.4 a couple years ago for 17. With 4's in 9.0 selling for 12k and 2's in 9.0/9.2 selling for 20k I would put 3 under them in value. MGSimba...While I whole heartedly agree that the "significance" of 14 is much higher than 28, It does not change the market. Two reputable dealers have their 28 9.4's at 20 and 22k respectively , they will sell those before SDCC is my bet. This book has always been and always will be perceived as scarce with it's black cover, common miswraps, miscuts and TONS of resto. It's just not seen very often in super high grade compared to 14. Lou , that is quite the collection you have my friend. 4 and 31 both have skyrocketed in value. I have always seen both of these books sell for ridiculous amounts.I parted with a couple undercopies this year along with ahem other books, to pick up a tough grail. The 4 went for over 20, no surprise. The 31 however almost 6k , twice what I anticipated. My long rambling point being, ASM is stronger then ever, and some issues the die hard ASM collector's all know they had better overspend or lose out. And stock up on those known issues. If I had to suggest an issue for you to invest in I would go after that 2 and 11. Happy Easter!!
  15. How many 9.4's/9.6's have you seen sell of 28? I would wager that you have seen many more 14's sell in that grade. And 9.4 14's are rising , last copy sold for $15k."Key" yes...Rare no. #14 is the most overvalued ASM imho. When it hits 20k , 28 will be 25k. High grade early ASM'S are never priced justly, are they? Lou if you are looking for current price points I think these are fair 9.0 $2000 9.2 $4500 Prettttty big jump going upward from here. And as JimJum stated , be cautious about an over graded 9.4. I would look out for an under graded 9.2 ASM like many titles has a few issues that you can throw the guide out on, 28 is one of them. Along with 2,4,11,13,20,31...........I think you get my point
  16. Sigh I have a "feeling" that this book is going to be a big number. In this grade it is on so many want lists , as we all know how tough it is to find in high grade. Arguably the most difficult ASM in my humble opinion anyway. I know where 4 of those 7 are and they won't be going anywhere . Speaking of , anyone know where that Mass copy went to? Those are some nice books the multiples inventor himself brought out . While PQ is always a factor for me, as I have found most of my White paged copies to have superior color and gloss as one would expect. This book looks awfully sharp. But Heritage has their scanning engine DIALED in to say the least. So book in hand can be a completely different beast. If anyone has first hand experience with this particular book please let me know, I would really like to fill one of my few remaining holes in my ASM run, just a tough call if it pushes over 20 like I expect it to with less then superb paper.
  17. CVA is Comic Verification Authority , a third party grading company that essentially grades a book THROUGH the slab based on eye appeal, and structure. If a book is "pretty" for their standards they put a CVA tamper resistant hologram onto the slab (see the AF15 with it above) price for this service can be from $8-$3000. While I do agree that most books with a CVA sticker do have tremendous eye appeal through the holder, to me it is a service that I do NOT need. I think that many speculators especially those in Josh's market (as he seems to cater to the speculator crowd the most out of any auction house) think that this means the book is better than the the grade assigned and/or upgradeable thus commanding higher premiums in auctions. ComicLink uses this service ALOT, and ahem coincidentally Tomis ERB of CVA the former Operations Manager of ComicLink. Tomis also graded books for ComicLink and its clients, verified conditions assigned by comic book sellers before they were forwarded on to buyers, and submitted countless books for ComicLink (and clients) to CGC. On the subject of CVA and stickers in general. Does anyone have a proven method for removing these darn stickers and the residue they leave? Grrrrrr....
  18. Nice looking VF+, was this a recent purchase? It looks familiar? Looks typical of the 8.5-9.2 phenomenon , If you ever want to sell it LMK...I'll buy it in a blink and test my formula. Cheers!
  19. The FFA, quite a few resubmissions in there . A few of the old label Spidey's are OO, that have never been pressed and are very strong candidates for a BUMO.Not sure if this is public knowledge or not, besides those that can just view them in hand. Bottomline a great opportunity , either for a flip. Or to have some of the tightest graded issues , and that is a fact. Not sure of hammer on the AF15, I paid ALOT for mine and at the time it was when CGC was a new idea, Smarted investment I made and one of the biggest profit makers. The big factor here is perception of upgradeability and this book already has been, CVA stickers can be a small factor of influence but IMHO they are just another case defacing item, whomever had the original idea to advertise on slabs was smart and OBNOXIOUS and should add a re-holdering fee into their final price, just my .02 as I HATE them.
  20. And speaking of ASM'S, I would highly encourage everyone to check out Comiclink's Auction upcoming, quote a few top census and all around nice books, I can attest to a quite a few that funny enough were mine, and the Alaskan air has been kind to them it seems ...wink wink..quite the collection he is selling off.
