  1. I picked up this ASM #9 @ Fanexpo Toronto and this completes my run from #1-present (#927) + annuals. I'm not a variant completist, I just pick up one I like. This has been an ongoing goal of mine since starting back in 1994. No AF#15 unfortunately, Missed the boat on that one but luckily picked up #1 several years ago before it spiked. I also have complete runs of Spectacular, MTU, Web of, and virtually all the other satellite titles.
  2. Not sure, they were his markers. Sorry! Edit - I was just in the sketch cover mega thread and there's a pic of clayton holding a spidey sketch cover and you can kind of make out the markers, hope that helps! Looks like they start with an "s"
  3. Isn't putting the non-archival comic pro boards with full/half backs defeating the purpose of having an acid free/archival board? Or does the archival gerber boards neutralize the acidity of the comic pro boards?
  4. Bags are pretty good. I'm really interested in how their boards compare with full-backs and half-backs as far as acidity and ph goes, etc. Are the comic pro line boards archival quality or just a standard comic board? Supposedly they're coated on 1 side but looks like different quality between the different sizes, with the 24 pt being 'standard' cheap boards. The 28pt and 56pt boards seem like a higher quality SBS cardboard, whatever that is. Would be great to have an affordable and available alternative to gerber boards up here in Canada. Any insight is appreciated?
  5. Also posted in Spidey thread but I realize not everyone goes there... By Ken Lashley aka Ledkilla
  6. Love this thread... great books you guys! I'm just getting into signatures/remarques but I can already tell it gets addicting...sketches next, if the budget allows. Anyway, just recently got these signed/remarqued by Ken Lashley at Niagara Falls Comicon and love how they turned out.
  7. Thank you. As a buyer, are most people looking at the average vs. just the last sale? I'm also eyeing a #6 cgc 3.0 and 12m average is $675 (6 sales) but there's 1 sale in last 90 days that was $920. Seems like that one is more the outlier and a more fair price might be somewhere in between. Any thoughts on that?
  8. Man, some of these books are CLEAN. Amazing stuff. Anyone able to help a guy out and let me know the gpa for ASM #9 cgc 2.5? Cheers
  9. Good advice in theory...but picking favorites between early ASMs is tough...perhaps even tougher than picking your favorite child,
  10. Hey guys, Looking for a little advice... I'm only a handful of issues away from a complete run of ASM #1 - current issue (#865 as of this time of writing). The last few issues that remain include some big ones; #2-6, 9, 11, 26, and Annual #1. My collection is a reader run, particularly for the early issues, around 1.8 - 5.0 with the earlier/more valuable ones being lower grade, and ideally wanting to have them around 2.0-3.0 depending on cost. These all seem to be hitting all time highs...maybe due to pandemic money/downtime but I'm sure they won't return to pre-pandemic levels (they never seem to go all the way back). Now I realize no one here has a crystal ball (right?) but my questions for you guys are... With vaccine rollout the world slowly appears to being going back to normal...should I wait this out and see if things cool down or at least level off a little at this point? Of the remaining issues I need are there any I should prioritize? In some cases I have a chance to grab some lower grade copied than I would like (for example, a 0.5 annual #1 for around $340.00 USD, cover detached and no back cover). Should I just grab what I can get for now and perhaps look at upgrading later...or better to try and find the grades I want? Any FYI, I'd never wrack up a credit card...just spending what extra money I'm comfortable with and maybe even selling some non-Spidey PC books to put towards the run. Any advice is appreciated.
