  1. I am a hospital pharmacist and this issue is very real. So real in fact right now institutions are worried they could run out of proper personal protectant gear for their employees. The panic and often misinformation have been equally countered by people who have brushed this to the side as if nothing was going to happen with their own false information and bravado. Everyone should have been operating in the middle with common sense for weeks now. Unfortunately, people cannot be trusted with even the simplest precautions such as covering their mouths when coughing, washing hands or even sticking to their self-isolations and that is why conventions, concerts, etc, just need to be canceled for the time being. Tough times are ahead but hopefully they will not last long. For the dealers on this board where their income is impacted by the convention season, reach out to your customers and see if some deals can’t be made!
  2. Thank you. Yeah I am not planning to have it pressed anytime soon, if ever. I was more curious about the grader notes in general not just how they pertain to my book. My friend has a 6.0 with very similar notes, and I have seen a couple on eBay with them as well.
  3. Thanks for the responses. I will get a scan up here soon. The book is put away so I will have to do just a little digging.
  4. For those of you who have resubmitted a graded copy of turtles 1 after pressing, or for anyone else for that matter, what are your opinions of these grader notes on this 9.2 copy? "Left Center Back Cover Small Multiple Finger Bends, Spine Small Stress Lines". Seems to be some potential room for upgrade but it also seems the finger bends are becoming more common in grader notes and who knows if a single press will remove them. Just interested in everyones thoughts. Thank you.
  5. I have been looking for a good place to start contributing to the forum and this thread is for sure the place. I have two copies of Turtles 1 first printings a 8.5 and a 9.2 both with white pages. The 9.2 is the copy that was discussed a few pages back in this thread and that sold for $8600 in May. It was a book I could not pass up as it was a Minnesota seller, I am a Minnesota buyer. It ended up that the book had a great story as the family who had it searched a long time when the book initially came out. It had been in their possession the entire time and was stored as part of a large comic collection. Sometime before the sale they found out the the value and figured that money could be put to good use including expanding their comic collection. My wife and I met the family and it was not easy for them to give the book up. The 9.2 is an amazing copy and I am very happy it is part of my collection. I would like to acquire higher grades later on but with the story of the 9.2 it won't be going anywhere anytime soon. It does seem to have defects that are good press candidates but I am in no rush to re-submit it at this point. Looking forward to talking to you all and seeing what the future holds for Turtles 1!
