  1. Hey guys this is just a small section of the room. I just put up this Len Wein asm frame. I have a few other frames I'm going to put up to go with the rest of the room that's almost finished. Nothing fancy just large and small posters with some cgc frames like the one underneath. Will update when its done ofcourse!
  2. ...its perfectly imperfect. I'll always 💖 it!
  3. Of course!... I was just referring to it being his first pencils on the title
  4. Flaming bag of dog poop on the front stairs? Nah not enough cruelty...find out where his locker is & catch him off guard
  5. To the OP- Did you guarantee a numerical grade in the description? Some shoppers don't bother to closely look at the scans or are not well read on on the ins & outs of grading. I was tempted on an X-Men 120 on Ebay that was described as a NM+ but then took a blow up of the scan. It appeared to have a very thin crease on one of the front corners only visible by blowing up the scan on that corner in the "desktop" ebay version so decided to pass. A crease alone may exclude it from being a 9.6 or 9.8 which is what nm+ is. Wasn't worth the risk. Ebay leaves too much buyer discretion in cases of "not as described"
  6. I got a 5 book reholder submission back today all came back totally free of NRs! Its looking like it's hit & miss with these NR issues. The last batch was terrible... Nevertheless I got lucky here so I'll drink to that
  7. Let me ad my support for my boy @ADAMANTIUM 's registry set. Nice going bud! 💪 Particularly the Neal Adams Batmans. Loving those covers!
  8. @ADAMANTIUM gets my vote for best Forumite ✊
  9. I don't have nearly enough Byrne stuff in the collection . He's one of those few freakishly talented artists in comic history along with Andru & Todd!
  10. Edit: I want to add a few of the the first Alpha appearances here. First is page 2 of #120 in their human form obviously. Second is the first sasquatch appearance second to last page. Last is their first appearance in full form in next issue
  11. These resurrected threads should have a glowing warning sign next to them
  12. Exactly what I was wondering
  13. Boy I would love to take a look at those first Kirby sketches 🕵️‍
  14. I'm gonna post this on the silver thread as well as here. It's an interesting historical rundown of the costume design. It goes on well past '88 with scarlet spiderman and all that but I cropped it at 88 otherwise it would have been harder to read. You'll have to blow it up a little bit
  15. I'm gonna park this here while I send it for reholder
  16. I already posted a group shot of these but they were in the old slabs. I just switched phones since the one I've been using was so old it was on life support. I'm testing out this new camera to check how improved it is. I figured this would be an interesting first test shot Maybe at some point I'd be looking to switch the 122 for a nicer wrapped copy? There's an example of me going for the pages. Interesting if that was a darker cover I probably would of gone for a better wrapped one since the white spine would have been more stark.
  17. The bottom section of the middle paragraph here is interesting. It refers to 138. I wonder what Andru did with all those pictures? Did he just throw them out? I don't know if he used Polaroids? Maybe Conway kept them?
  18. Not sure if you're referring to that 124 you posted? That's a chronically mis wrapped issue. The centered copies with a straight marvel banner are outnumbered. Why would you have sold that one?
  19. It's the shape of the head. Ditko drew the head in a little more of an oval shape. It's also the thicker black around the eyes and the black webbing on the costume was closer together less spread out then Romita. Another difference was how scrawny Ditko drew him but those were before the days of steroid heads/muscle magazines being popularized in media... before Arnold and all that stuff You can actually track how artists drew super heroes pretty closely to the evolution of professional bodybuilding
  20. Crazy how two people can see the same cover and have such diametrical views. I have a huge poster of 137 in my comic room lol! If I wanted to be picky about it I'd say the letter font on the "Amazing Spider-Man" title is probably a little too thick. They should have done it the way it looks on 151. Otherwise it's beautiful!
  21. I think the op was aiming at how crazy the price multiples were for grade increments of .2 which could be determined by defects not entirely visible through the naked eye. It's a valid point. I don't know if the valuations for a NM/MT & NM raw back in the day were on par with the difference in 9.6 & 9.8 today for older keys? I think overstreet was the main authority in comic grading back in the day? If you look at overstreet guide there's more ground covered between the grade increments than CGC with the 9's so I may have been easier to detect differences in condition? Of course all this is assuming they were able to spot restoration or trimming back then which is another matter. I don't know since I was only collecting them to read before CGC came out.
  22. Just out of curiosity what's an example of a difference between a clean 9.8 and a 9.9 besides centering? Would it be lack of staple tears? Position of the staples, color depth?
