  1. That actually sounds pretty cool! Thanks! I’m still bummed to have to submit the book for regrade also
  2. All I’m saying is that it would be very dumb of anyone to risk a regrade on a book like this one (hidden below) where it’s pretty universally accepted that this signature is authentic, just to get the spiffy new label… I’d much prefer to keep the grade and the Qualified label, than to have it come back authenticated in 9.6-9.2 with the new yellow label. By forcing a regrade when there is no damage, CGC/JSA is basically saying there is a decent chance they will jack your book up while authenticating the sig, or that they misgraded it the first time around. I predict they will reconsider this.
  3. By obvious answer you mean CGC gets paid. This is no different than any other reholder… … if it appears tampered or damaged then absolutely regrade, otherwise authenticate the signature and not force the owner to risk regrade. I bet you someone like Heritage won’t be risking regrading for a book like this.
  4. Another great example of “why does the BOOK need to be regraded?” CGC already said it’s a 9.8 now just authenticate the sig and slap the new label on there with the same grade. I personally would never risk that 9.8 for the new JSA label, especially when you already know it’s an authentic signature.
  5. Thank you @MattM CS! You guys really should reconsider that. Can’t see why they couldn’t “pre-screen” the sig before cracking a slab like this and then, if not authenticated, give the member the choice to have it go forward, or be returned in Qualified label. If it’s authenticated I can’t understand why it couldn’t then be reholdered with the same grade, and with authenticated note. Forcing a regrade on a book like this basically implies that the sig can’t be authenticated/verified without harming the book. Just my opinion. Thanks again!
  6. Hello @MattM CS! Is it possible to have this signature verified WITHOUT having to regrade the book also? Would rather not risk the grade of this book just for the new fancy label. Thank you!
  7. Pretty messed up that they made you negotiate! They should have went out of their way to make you happy with their first “offer.” Glad it worked out, but geez! Way to restore faith CGC!
  8. Thank you! I rub it the night prior and place in fridge uncovered. Take out a couple hours early and then cook it at 175 Fahrenheit until internal temp is 120. I know 175 is low but it’s the only way I get it to cook evenly throughout
  9. This is really weird! I had a seller once that refused to transfer a book a couple years ago. There were no allegations or theft or anything like that, they just wanted to be difficult. They had it in one of their competitive sets so I think they wanted to keep it for the points… I suspect they figured I’d buy it but not register it so they could get the cash and “keep” the book. Usually when you try to add it to a set, they get a notification and can then release it. If they don’t allow the transfer then usually it goes through in a couple days. I think in my case they denied the transfer… I ended up explaining all this to the Registry Admins and including a pic of me with the book, and it was immediately transferred. Very strange they won’t do the same for you!
  10. Finished the entire series Wed & Thurs. I’ve only ever played Fallout 4 but probably have a few thousand hours into it, with about a dozen playthroughs… have spent a ton of time just building settlements (of course I have a mod for unlimited settlement supplies). I really liked this series… for me, most enjoyable was looking at all the detail in the sets to look like the game environment. This series flew by and once finished felt very much like a mere intro… there is a lot more they can now do!! Really excited for Season 2!!
  11. My problem is not with any grade, it’s CGC’s public relations. I wish they would just grade books and let nature take its course from there. When they publicize something like this then in my mind, everything becomes suspect… I mean, when it comes right down to it shouldn't this book have simply went from QC to shipping and no one inside CGC would have even known to make a big deal out of it? Just be the best at grading and shut up, then no one will have a reason to wonder what motivations are for this grade, this grade now, etc. Also makes me sick whenever I see CGC ranting and raving about some record sale (especially when it’s at Heritage)… just so shady. It’s almost as if they want to suck every penny possible out of people that enjoy this hobby
  12. @Yorick I tried this and got this far… when I save I get an error though
