  1. A lot of 239 Spider-Man comics, including: - Silver/Bronze/Modern ASM (123 issues) - Spider-Man run (1-61,70 - multiple variants of #1) - Secret Wars #8, Spectacular Spider-Man #1, Web of Spider-Man #1 - Spectacular Spider-Man Annuals #2, #4-14 - Other various titles and series Auction ends Sunday, August 22nd 239 issue Spider-Man lot on eBay Thanks for looking.
  2. That's what I said. All the markdowns are a result of the back cover, so it looks really nice from the front.
  3. Glad to hear it finally arrived. I was considering putting the box inside another bigger box, but I figured enough was enough
  4. I can't claim to have read near the number of comics some of you more 'seasoned' veterans can, but the first book that comes to mind is Spectacular Spider-Man #14 The art is unique. Every panel is hand painted. No inks, pencils, etc, all painted. The story was also something really different from what I had read before. A young man with cerebral palsy (i think) is confined to his wheelchair, with little to no control over his motor functions, and without the ability to speak. He basically sits in his room all day, but each evening his family rolls him out to the roof of their apartment building, so he can spend some time outside, watching the Brooklyn skyline. One evening Spider-Man and Morbius happen to be battling it out, and the fight arrives on this particular rooftop. All the guy can do is sit there and watch as these two duke it out. Spidey eventually wins and returns to the rooftop and sits with the guy, chatting it up for a bit (although the conversation is decidedly one-sided). Spidey then decides to let him in on a secret and reveal his identity by pulling off his mask and telling him his real name, mentioning how the two of them aren't that different. At the end his father (or older brother) comes out to get him and asks if he saw anything exciting, to which the guy lets out the best excited grunt he can under the circumstances. Definitely not something I expected from a comic book and one of the few that will probably stay with me.
  5. Don't thank me, thank CGC. I just re-used the packaging they used to ship the book to me But hey, I was smart enough to save it and re-use it, so that's one point for me
  6. And kudos to THE_BEYONDER and jonjesper for picking up two of my CGC books and paying instantly
  7. The way I see it, the one thing buyers fret over more than anything else is the safe arrival of their books. There's simply no reason not to do it right. And of course, kudos to Jbone for quick payment and a smooth first 'bulk' sale for myself.
  8. Overdue kudos to Comcasthawk for putting up with a 'brain-fart' during my first sale to a board member. Thanks, man
  9. After just about giving up due to the fact that I discovered the FMV for this book was higher than I thought, I saw this auction on eBay and just won this puppy for $24.99
  10. Kudos to DKB for beefing up my ASM collection, and for some nice protective packaging. Ah, and he also hooked me up with copies of WW 214 and Flash 219 for my Infinite Crisis collection
  11. Another good week for my blossoming spidey collection. Still haven't graduated to the $150+ issues, but I'm picking up lots of runs in the meantime. Just received a full run of Web of Spider-Man (1-129, Annuals 1-10) from eBayer mask_collector2001, all in vf to nm condition. good stuff. Expecting a full run of Webspinners Tales of Spider-Man (1-18) in the next day or so from eBayer mutedemon. Picked up a handful of higher issue ASMs from board member whet. Also won this week's raffle over at MyParentsComics.com , so I've got a Green Lantern #48 on its way.
  12. Thanks goes out to Flaming_Telepath for some great issues of ASM, and at great prices too
  13. My thinking was, "If you pick up a raw comic, how would you possibly know if it was a Stan Lee file copy?", but your post answers my question, that they were all slabbed before they were sold for the first time. So I assume that means every Stan Lee file copy is in a slab, unless someone cracked it out, which wouldn't be too smart.
  14. Two questions: 1) What indicates that the comic is a 'Stan Lee File Copy' 2) How do you determine the value of such a comic?
