Question: Would you leave it alone or have it conserved, to at least reattach the cover?
Assuming you're going to slab it (which I would), I'd send it to CCS to have them review to advise on resto (removal) and possible conservation.

Do you want it done right or do you want it done fast? When I choose @joeypost, I know it will be done right. I am willing to wait for this.
And, an added bonus: Joey is within driving distance of CGC and often drives your books to their door.

One of the big NYC dealers that I bought it from graded it as "NM". I suspect that grade will not be confirmed here.
Actually it is... it's their proprietary grading system:
"Near Middlin'."

Thanks everyone! Isn't it odd that the sticker is taped to the outside on top?
Those older slabs had the CGC sticker on top of the case. It would peel off over time.

To my eyes, with a good cleaning, this book should be at 6.5 or so. So either you guys are way off...
...or I'm overdue at the optometrist.

I had a beautiful ASM 33... except... for a crease not unlike that one. I sold it on eBay as a 6.0 unslabbed.
I remember it vividly because months later, the buyer contacted me and said:
"Hey, remember that raw ASM 33 you sold me as a 6.0? I just got it back from CGC... it got a 6.0 Thought you'd like to know."
So I'm saying... 6.0.

8.0 after CP for me.

- I would still slab that bad boy. In general, I prefer to slab keys. Only exception: if it's this grade range but ALSO with a cut-out (like ASM 20 often has), then I'd sell it raw. JMHO. Despite the water stains, still a great book!

I like the 3.0, possibly better with a C & P...
Mine was a 3.5, and it had a small chunk out of the cover. I think this could be at LEAST 3.5, with a C & P.

Right edge of the cover only, is also trimmed.
Look at the enlargement (only on an empty stomach).

This started out as a good, I'm sure. I'll find it. His source. Where he bought it.

Wow. Well done. You're like...

What ever that is it does detract from the books looks, it was the first thing I noticed.
Just by the pic and not being able to really see the spine that well, IMO...
5.0 VERY GOOD/FINE (VG/FN):
Depending on what it is, a clean and press could make a huge difference. If it's a tear, and water damage, then no. But dirt and a bent corner? Yes.
Assuming the latter... I'd go 7.0 after "treatment".
-
What is that glurtch in the upper left corner? Is it a tear or dirt or a stain or what? Great looking book otherwise.
-
8.5-9.0... and a YES to the press.

5.5 here, as we appear to have achieved herd grading immunity!
