Just when I thought I was cool with it, it just had to happen, I would leave myself penniless for around 2 months. I am sure all of us have all experienced this dilemma at one point in time or another, I'm better now. At least if I was gonna be broke temporarily, it was for a good reason---Comics.

You strive for the best, so what do you do with your not so HG slabs? Replace them with better in a kindof turnover basis? I love collecting comic books for both their Artistry as well as their Story lines and/or Characters. I tend to lean towards the "Amazing Spider-Man" as well as the "Uncanny X-Men" lines. Throughout my collection, I have chosen many of which to be graded. Most of these books came direct from shelf to bag/board before leaving the Comic Store. I have multiples and I thought I would toss out a few to be graded. Most did rather well, although out of 5 ASM #238s, The best score I got was a 7.5, 6.0, and a 4. Many of those were purchased online but my highest score was one of my personal reader copies. I love the thrill of just knowing that I have some CGC 9.9s but nothing to write home about.. I recently purchased an ASM #300. I bought it as a VF-NM- Really looked sharp, But.... When I submitted the book to CGC, they found that there had been some type of color restoration performed. It got a 7.5 I just never expected to have received a Restored version of this great comic. It is not a bad thing, but it throws my whole color schemes off... Blue--Yesllow--Green---, and now I get to add a --Purple. Oh well.. Such is life?

Can't seem to find a correct appraisal of a CGC 9.8 and a 9.6 for Amazing Spider-Man #300 I have checked previous auction histories, as well as the GPA, Comic Price Guide (CPG), and other resources and still can't seem to nail down a price. All the data I see continually changes, as does the market. I am slowly amassing my own set of HG Slabbed ASM, and Uncanny X-men. I should be receiving a total of 7 CGC graded books from my latest submissions over the next couple weeks. I am going crazy with anticipation... In other words, I Can't Wait!! I really

I have been slowly trying to get my Uncanny X-Men series as well as my Amazing Spiderman serie's holes patched. It will take me a long time and a lot of money I know.... To fill in holes in my various X-Men and ASM sets, while uncovering jewels or diamonds in the rough so to speak....

Hurricane Wilma Hits Florida, CGC Closed due to weather Well, I guess I cannot find out my grades today on my 3 issues I submitted to CGC. Their offices are closed today due to weather, but will be opened tomorrow..Tuesday. I hope that all is well with all of them and their families, considering their offices are locate in Sarasota, FL. I saw where someone had mentioned creating a Thread devoted to: My Holy Grail and/or grails A thread pertaining to perhaps what I had to do in obtaining my (grail)(at this point in time at least, ) how I was able to obtain mine? Was it $$$ or was it Trade? Or was perhaps a combination of both? My latest was my first ever 9.9, albeit it is a more modern Uncanny X-Men #444, but it was my first ever, and only 1 of 4 ever to be registered.

I have been flustering over the amount of "House of M" fans were truly out there.... I hope that there are more collectors of the House of M series. It really is a good read, and the artwork is right on the pulse of the reader perhaps... Anyone else?

Well with my collections of Amazing Spider-Man and Uncanny X-Men slowly growing CGC Encapsulations, I have submitted 3 more The one I have the most hope for is my ASM #300. This book I am hoping will draw a high grade due to it's immaculate condition... As far as the other 2, I submitted an ASM #238 that may score well, but I really hopy my Incredible Hulk #180 scores high!!! I will keep you posted with the results...

I have been poring through all of my comics to pick the ones I want to submit to CGC for slabbing. I have been watching the different auctions and websites trying to evaluate some comics I have in my collection. As a result, I have found myself running back and forth to check the comics. I have a Comic Database that I should have completed the data entry by now, but I find myself getting distracted by other books for sale. I guess I am just lazy.... One day soon, I will get my data entered.

I stumbled on this by accident, but for you Comic Book Database fans.. Trying to keep a scorecard on the players in the comics field is like identifying insect species in the tropical rain forests. The rain forests will be long gone before any investigators can finally systematize all the insect varieties. And then order will be achieved only because so-called rational beings can't live long with that much complexity.

Yesterday while speaking with my Postal carrier, I asked her a little bit about Shipping and Insurance. This may be posted somewhere on someone's site, but I felt ignorant when she told me that while insuring packages is a good thing, there are many reasons that the insurance carrier has that would legally allow them not to pay "your" claim. It seems that if you do not have the package/property to be shipped completely surrounded in 4" of packing material, they do not have to pay any claim for damages if any are incurred. When I say 4", that is 4" on Top, 4" on Bottom, and 4" on the sides. That would mean that if you Ship a comic book in say a "Fed-Ex letter" package, or something similar to that, and you might have written "Do Not Bend" on it, and even had a protective board on both sides of the book to keep it from being bent, the Insurance will not pay for damages unless you meet that 4" rule. As a result, you have purchased insurance that would be useless if actual damages were to occur during shipment. I am going to post this to the CCG boards and see what they say.

I submitted 3 books for CGC grading. I already got the scores, but I won't get the Slabs back for about 3 more weeks. At least I got my scores I feel Happy!!! I just recently submitted 3 books to CGC for grading. Being a "newbie" to the CGC arena but not to collecting, I feel like a kid with a new toy. It seems like that I have become somewhat biased towards a CGC graded Comic Book. I have a collection of many possibilities to choose from for "Slabbing" purposes, Hell-I even have to get another type of box to go store them in. Looks a little off kilter with all my "Long boxes" and my lone "CGC Comics Box" slowly filling up day by day...

So.. Do you get your book pedigreed before CGC certification? This is an honest ignorant question...
