  1. I recently acquired 2 pages from the West Coast Avengers mini series from 1984. My favorite mini series of the 80’s. I’ve looked high and low for a page from issue 1 but no luck. So here are two pages from issue 2
  2. From their website... John Byrne pages from X-Men #125, 137, and #138 all signed by Byrne and Stan Lee; two first appearances, an Avengers #10 page by Don Heck presenting Immortus, and a Daredevil #4 page by Orlando and Colletta, featuring the Purple Man; Also many other artists are featured in this auction including Jack Kirby, Steve Bissette, Joe Quesada, Michael Zulli, Herb Trimpe, George Perez, and more!
  3. Just got this in the mail. Commission from Ramona Fradon. 93 years old and still killing it! Silver Age Scarlet Witch. Just blown away, I’m so pleased with how this turned out...
  4. This scenario played out for me in real life, just a few weeks ago. I had a collection that had become (as much as I love him) Don Heck centric. So I let three pieces go to an upcoming auction, and kept the one remaining for myself (with an eye on an early Kirby x-men for the other three pieces) here’s the keeper: Avengers 9, 1st appearance of Wonder Man
  5. Didn’t find any OA I needed, but I did get a commission in with Michael Golden which I’m very excited about!
  6. Just got this in the mail! Heck/Ayers AVENGERS 9 first Wonder Man, and the moment when he has a change of heart so excited to finally have this!
  7. I was just thinking that FF 1 and 2 Hulk 1 and 2 etc, we’re probably stolen, so someone has them but they’re sitting in a closet or a vault somewhere and the person who’s got them can’t tell anyone about it. And then I asked myself if it would be worth it? Sure the question is hypothetical, and it implies that you must have millions of dollars in disposable income (surely a page from AF 15, FF 1, or Hulk 1 would fetch a million, yes?), but would you want to fork out that kind of money if you could never tell anyone about it, or share it with anyone? I think that’s 1/2 the fun isn’t it?
  8. Tales to Astonish #37 page by Kirby/Ayers from 1962. Drawn and published within the first year of the Marvel Universe!
  9. So if you had the money, and the chance to buy a page from Hulk #1 for example, but could never show it or tell anyone you had it. Would you rather it? Or a piece of OA that’s on the market (say Hulk 3), considerably cheaper, and something you could crow about here, on CAF, and to anyone who’d listen?
  10. Spider-Man pages, is there anything out there prior to issue #6? I’ve seen FF 3, 5, 9, and above. What about 4, 6, 7, 8? Hulk 1, 2? Avengers 4? x-men 3, 4? TOS 39, 57? Strange Tales other than 117? What about 135? Does anyone know any stories about the existence of any of the above?
  11. I have a question for HA consigners. Where do you expect your pages to be at this stage in the auction vs their number at the final hammer? At about 1/2 of what it will ultimately sell for? 2/3? Is there any kind of typical “ball park guesstimate” you can make based off of where things sit 3 days out?
  12. Don Heck pencils, Ayers inks TALES OF SUSPENSE 60 Dec 1964
  13. Nostalgic Investments has an insane array of awesome stuff! There are at least 5 items I have my eye on that I’m seriously trying to raise up funds for.
  14. I met George Perez at a convention. My 9 year old daughter and I stood in line to get a sketch from him. When we got to the front he realized he had used his last sheet of paper on the patron before us. He saw the sadness in my daughter!s eye and foraged around for anything. He found a comic book backing board and volunteered to draw on that. Great guy, and he made my daughter’s day
  15. Any interest? I’ll give it another day or two. If nobody bites I suppose I’ll just hold on to it. I do like it a lot, so no crime if I have to keep it😄
  16. What about this one? I love John Byrne as much as the next guy, and I like the Avengers, but this seems to me about $5k too optimistic! https://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Byrne-Original-Art-AVENGERS-Signed-Cap-Iron-Man-Loki-and-MORE/174168591972?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225079%26meid%3Dd08eb43b5ffe441db84c11255154a3d2%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D174168591972%26itm%3D174168591972%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A8c3d382d-4068-11ea-a047-74dbd1800c10|parentrq%3Ae31585b216f0ad3058436ea7fffbabcc|iid%3A1
  17. I hate to sell it (I actually just got it) but I have a shot at a real grail piece for my collection PM me if interested
  18. I just saw that. Sweet Christmas indeed. how high does this go? Any guesses?
  19. I’m very excited about this. I am a huge Doctor Strange fan, but having recently modified my OA collection to consist of only first, early, or key Silver Age Marvel appearances, I assumed I was out of luck (what little Ditko stuff that’s out there is too rich for my blood!) So to stumble upon a Marvel Feature 1 page, the first appearance of my favorite 70’s squad, with Doctor Strange, was a dream come true. Anthony had it on his website and I think I snagged it within 2 hours of the posting. extra added bonus, it’s inked by Bill Everett, who I’ve very much wanted to add to my collection
  20. Tales of Suspense 60 pg 13 Heck/Ayers 2nd app Hawkeye, 4th app Black Widow
  21. I anticipate that plot point will be readjusted again in the future, so someone may or may not get 10k for it now, but won’t get 1/2 that 10 years from now
  22. Published Triton - Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Mike Zeck
