  1. If we don't get those detail then I am afraid it's impossible to help since each book's release is different and what you may think you know about this particular release could be wrong.
  2. That's correct. BUT if those staples are added, then it's the same as tape, the book ends up in the VG range.
  3. Care to explain? I'm legit curious. To me, the fight changed meaning cannon wise when it was later revealed that Superman was fighting Batman at the behest of Lex Luthor. It really lessened the impact for me.
  4. While the cover has tanned, as is typical with this book, the book itself is in great shape. The main issue is a tiny chip (piece is still attached, but it's folded) at the top edge. let me know what you think for the grade
  5. It would help if you said which book you were talking about and gave a link to the ebay page.
  6. Congrats on the great grade. I would have never thought it could get so high.
  7. I never liked Red Hulk. Always found it super cheap of Marvel to make it an unfair whodunnit without letting us know that a hulked out version of someone would have to grow their own facial hair by themselves rather than simply sport the same facial hair as the pre hulked out person.
  8. Old thread, i know. Just wanted to say that after all these years he is still indeed in Montreal. He goes through his old contacts trying to see if he can reach out to anyone to buy his books.
  9. There is no official news, nor even set rumours. It's all speculation at this point. Congrats on your beautiful book!
  10. They make me nostalgic for my days of wearing tie die shirts.
  11. Nope, because Newton rings are part of CGC cases. They are a common fact and can be looked up and have nothing to do with the condition of the case. It's like ordering a burger at a diner and returning it because they didn't say there was beef in it. And yeah, a reholder can still give you newton rings, that's the main issue with CGC holders. Could be even worse the second time. Either keep your book or resell it, those are your main options.
  12. I wouldn't get any. Try to save up some more and get a higher grade with tatooz. And if it has to wait till next year, then so be it. Might be even cheaper by then because this year is insane.
  13. Sadly yes, check this: https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/superhero/the-marvel-family-group-of-4-fawcett-publications-1946-total-4-comic-books-/a/122107-15423.s?ic2=mybidspage-lotlinks-12202013&tab=MyBids-101116
  14. Well then (as you can see from the reply above) you are telling the OP that his post makes no sense
  15. Because the cover has nothing to do with why I want #3, it's probably the only comic I would ever consider buying coverless.
  16. It's not like what the OP said, because he mentioned it had to be the same comic. the scenario you gave makes sense and we see a lot of it, but the OP asked if an FF 51 9.6 would sell for more than an FF 51 9.8 if there were less 9.6 out there.
  17. Yup, I think what I'll do instead is finally sell all my Fawcett and Kirby 4th world doubles.
  18. Case in point: https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-1-comic-sells-for-a-record-44000/45713/
  19. +1, the census rarity in lower grades would never be a reason for a book to be more coveted. Never. Almost always, the reason there are less books graded in lower grades is because they aren't worth grading. For your example, a lone 8.0 is probably due to someone sending in a book they thought would be high grade but they missed a defect (like a water droplet or something).
  20. Did anyone get anything from tonight's Heritage auction? I placed a bunch of bidds and won 2 things: Diddly and Squat
  21. The ones that annoy me are the ones that are not actual first appearances. Like the Harkey Quinn book you mention. Same for TMNT adventures 1, Batman Beyond 1, or NYX or Conan the Barbarian ect
