  8. All I’m looking for is a nice Kirby page from the late 40s/ early 50s. I had to sell my collection to pay to pay for restoration of my back yard due to massive erosion. M
  9. Not Jerry Bails. I’m not at liberty to say whose collection it is. Suffice to say, I sold a lot of it to him back in the mid 70s to mid 80s
  10. I owned that Starlin Hulk cover back in the late 70s. I had Starlin touch up the right eye as the white-out that was there chipped away. My personal opinion is that Hulk cover, is one of the best 3 non Warlock or Captain Marvel covers Starlin drew in that time period. That Hulk is brutal!
  11. Yes, you’re pretty much correct. I sold a lot of art to the consignor back in the 70s and early 80s. I used to own the Showcase #64 cover. Bought it from the Steranko art catalog back in 77 for $50. Sold it to the consignor in 79.
  12. The dealers that receive art on consignment from collectors are mostly told by those collectors what to price their art at. Hence the extreme prices. When consigned art doesn’t sell, you’ll see posts offering the art at a discount. When it doesn’t sell then, it goes to auction.
  13. But 0+0 still equals 0 It’s not like you can use the McFarlane as a comp, if it doesn’t sell
  14. Heidjer, it’s only “bringing” if it sells. Otherwise, it doesn’t mean anything but a number
  15. Michael, you forget that a couple dealers take most of their inventory on consignment, myself included. I'm betting that if they had to buy their stock, what with most of it not selling, they would be in serious financial trouble. To speak of only myself, at 66, I’m certainly not paying prices to have to try to resell at a much higher price, cause I’d be taking to my grave. Sales show that collectors would rather pay the high prices from auctions than dealers who have either had their pieces for years, or super-over aggressively price their art, effectively “phishing” for a price/sale.
  16. A good portion is coming from one collector. I know this as many of the originals in the auction, I sold to the collector in the 70s and 80s
  17. Helen Jacobs. “Florence M. Jacobs - Her Book” Personal work.
  18. Mabel Lucie Attwell The Amateur Cook, 1905. I’ve been collecting British book illustrations from the early 20th Century.
  19. No. Once you show interest, the price shoots up $200,000 more.
  20. I’ve had no problems with dealers I’ve bought from in Italy.
  21. So very inaccurate and misleading. l’ve taken the liberty to reach out to the seller to let him know. https://www.ebay.com/itm/275501448649?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=acfa339625d84127a8673f4d7dc51730&bu=43188601270&ut=RU&exe=0&ext=0&osub=-1~1&crd=20221016042004&segname=11021
