  1. Another one with sadly missing info.... Tales of the TMNT #4 ... the first appearance of the Rat King is not significant enough to note. I understand that now I'm diving into Copper Age indie books and parody characters, but still... character has decades of cartoon and toy credibility.
  2. #1 Midnight Sons fan right here!! Collected 'em all as a kid. Spent my entire allowance and then some. Still love 'em. Ahem. I have a similar problem to the original post. I'm about to have this one sent in for a reholder because one side of the slab is opening up. Astonishing #51 from 1956 has a Bill Everett cover (not noted on the slab) and also contains an X-Men prototype (also not noted)--- a young man suddenly develops strange powers and doctors say that he has become "a mutant" (first time that this term is used in a Marvel comic, albeit Atlas at the time). Namor may be known as "the first mutant" but that detail is a retcon added later on. How serious or notable does it have to get before CGC decides to call it out? I've seen much, much less significant details called out on other headers. I'd love to see relevant info added to this one.
  3. Thanks for the advice/comments! CGC customer service got on this one and we're having it fixed now. No hassles, no worries. Again, first time I've personally seen this error from CGC with my own eyes, but I have encountered it with odd COA's and certifications over the years. It's always a clerical error. Numbers get swapped around, no one notices, everyone assumes someone else checked, and so on.
  4. I picked this up awhile back without eyeballing every detail as well as I should have, I guess. It's a Powers of X convention variant that wasn't released until November 2019. The CGC header label has the signing noted as taking place in 2016, which is impossible since the comic did not exist then, and obviously not accurate info. I don't see any signs of faking or forgery, so I have to presume that it's just a clerical mistake. If I submit for a reholder, is there any special request that I have to make to get the correct info on the header? First time that I've encountered this type of error.
  5. Sure, to your latter point, the film seems like a big hit and this would be my first CGC sig from a lead Marvel film star. I have gotten a few DC leads over the years and some Marvel second bananas, though no key firsts. Seems like the stars were lining up for this one. My personal favorite Shang Chi issues aren't keys, so having them slabbed and signed would be less of a trophy on the wall.
  6. Aye, I figured as much. My fault for not requesting speedy turnaround.
  7. Pretty excited to just get the announcement of CGC's Shang-Chi-star Simu Liu signing. Thing is, CGC has had my copy of Shang Chi's first appearance scheduled for grading since mid-July. It's September 5th now. I'm aware of the turnaround times and I'm not too confident that I'll be able to get the comic back from CGC in time to get it in on the signing. Since the book is in CGC's possession now, I was wondering if there's any way to have it added to the signing list? Sorry in advance if this issue has been covered elsewhere. If it were a common comic I'd just go pick up another copy and send it in, but it's a Bronze Age key.. not so easy to just grab another one.
  8. Perfect! Thanks for setting me in the right direction.
  9. First-timer question. I couldn't quite get an answer from the FAQ or figure out the proper avenue to contact CGC regarding this issue. Apologies in advance if this post is out of place! I just received my first shipment of reholders through UPS yesterday. The box arrived damaged, looking like a smashed accordion. One of the reholders looks like it took the brunt of roughness on one corner, and came back with a surface scratch or scuff on the front of the slab. I have attached a photo of that. It's not a crack, but it is unsightly since it's kind of prominent on the front of the case, and since it's kind of a rare item, I was hoping it would come back looking sharp. In my opinion, this looks just as bad as the previous holder that I mailed in to have replaced. Not sure what to do :/
