  1. Picked up a four-book lot on eBay, they showed up today - the #4 2nd print was the obvious reason I wanted it, happy to finally own this book!
  2. Thank you! I could luckily tell right away when I saw it that it was some kind of New 52 version based on the logo and the credits, so for the price it was a no-brainer to grab it, even with the condition issues. I did see there was a "Batman Experience" exhibit at SDCC 2019, so I assume it was either distributed there or at some panel.
  3. I've been collecting the variants and additional prints of the new 52 Batman #1, and this variant (pics below) wasn't even on my radar - I found it at Half Price Books today for $2. I was able to find out that it's the " Batman 80th Anniversary Special Edition 1" from 2019, and the lone eBay listing I found says it was from SDCC 2019. GoCollect has a listing but no real info. KeyCollector and CovrPrice don't have a listing that I've found. I'm just wondering if anyone knows more about where it was distributed, possibly how many there might have been given out, etc.? Just looking for any additional info to better know about the book. The front is fairly clean, but unfortunately the back has a couple of bad tics and some color rub and is very fingerprinted (it's a glossy black card stock, I might try to wipe it down with microfiber or something).
  4. I put together the whole Hush run (608-619) in newsstand this past year. The way I did most of it was through buying lots (I did luck out and find a couple of the individual newsstand issues at local comic shows). Obviously 609 is the most difficult/expensive in the run in newsstand, but you can still find it for relatively cheap by looking for lots or runs where people just don't really know the difference - and it happens more than you might think. I got my 609 newsstand by buying a full Hush 608-619 run that I ended up winning for $100 - 4 or 5 of the books in that lot were newsstands, including the 608, 609 and 612, and there was zero mention of that in the listing, I just saw it in the pics. I probably have about 4-5 full Hush runs now (including the newsstand run), so I'll most likely end up selling off a couple to recoup my money. But again, I was lucky with buying Batman comic lots that would often have 2-3 Hush issues in them (like 610, 614, etc.), where I was paying less than $1 per comic for a full lot buy. But that downside to that is also getting some comics you don't really want and then trying to move them. I also started buying copies of 609 a few years ago whenever I would see it for cheap at shows, and I was able to get 2-3 copies of it (direct editions) for less than $10 each at the time. Edit: Here's a pic of my newsstand run:
  5. It was a Golden Records insert in a record box set in 1966. The set came with a record (I think it was a read-along to one of the stories), a button/badge, a ring and a Batman Club membership card. And the comic of course.
  6. Have fun tomorrow night - my daughter is in her high school play, so I'll be out for the comics shenanigans. Save some Bats for me...
