  1. Spoiler!! Did the last episode remind anyone else of the Preacher series. Scary, mysterious family trying to get wayward members back. And yes - after all this time I do not know how to put stuff under the spoiler tab.
  2. I'm only half way thru this episode and it's great. I'm loving this series way more than the recent Doctor Who which is saying a lot since I love Doctor Who. The only complaint I have is it's hard to watch on the weekends I have my daughter - too much violence for an 11 year old.
  3. Glad to see I'm not the only one with an 8250 that's possessed. When it starts grinding my dogs start howling and the wife yells at me... If I keep scanning one slab after another I have zero issues and like thunsicker said, if you take a break it's guaranteed to annoy everyone in the house. I thought that may be the issue. I scanned two in a row but then took a break to tinker with settings and the next one went into grinding mode.
  4. I picked up a cheap HP-8250 off of E-Bay and had disastrous results last night. I have basic VueScan so I did not bother uploading the drivers which may have been part of the issue. I got a couple 8 1/2x11" scans to come thru no problem but the scanner freaked out when I tried to scan a slab via a 8 1/2 x 14" scan. One scan looked good and then half way thru the second scan the scanner jumped to the left and started making a grinding sound. Couldn't get it to stop until I unplugged it. Restarted the scanner but then my computer started lagging and acted strange. I restarted the computer and got a couple good scans and then it did it again. I'm using Windows 8 on a newer laptop and its really the only computer I've got access to except my wife's Mac which I'm reluctant to use. Any advice?
  5. I have sent Venom multiple messages about books he bought in my sales threads. I never heard back from Venom about the invoices. I'm not waiting for books from him.
  6. Just watch last nights episode and it did not disappoint. Very tight and entertaining all the way around.
  7. I just picked up a HP Scanjet 8250 based on the reviews it got in this thread. Thanks for the great info guys.

  9. I found these today at a half price book place that looked like they had just got a collection in. I thought the price on the books was the half off price but the guy took 1/2 off the tag at the counter. I paid $23 for the entire set!
  10. My biggest complain about the series is Constantine is portrayed as being too "good". I love the plots so far but I think he should be pulling himself out of the bar/gutter more than he is in the show.
  11. Another strong episode! Great cast with some killer, scary plots. I don't know what more people can ask of the show.
  12. I originally thought it was crazy to have a separate auction section but since the auctions seem to have taken over it seems to be making more sense every day. I may be selfishly hoping the change kills of the auction craze since I'm never up late enough to snipe any of the auctions.
  13. I bought a small batch of books from Paul and they arrived quickly and as advertised. I'd not hesitate to buy some of his high graded books in the future. Andrew
  14. GIMME Another boardie has first dibs........but if he passes.......how did you like that Bone? You must let me know how it grades. I hear your Bone is quite impressive!
  15. Western PA is off the table. You can have West Virginia and Western New York.
  16. that's the key. Plus I think Texas overall is a healthier "comic" state than Illinois. It's the pits up here. I'd take Illinois and you can have Ohio in terms of comics in the wild.
  17. Episode 3 was a little cheesy but fun. The second one was the best so far to me. But I do see this show starting to get a cult following.
  18. Fingers are crossed for a good show tonight.
  19. Am I missing the huge number of auctions in the sales forum? I see a few pop up but I don't see many people trying it again after they see the results. I think everyone is worrying about nothing. The E-Bay masses would have ventured over already if they wanted to and I do not think auction threads will entice them to make the jump.
  20. I predict an auction only thread will not last long. The people selling will get sniped to death and they will move back over to the BIN thread to sell books. I've only seen a few auctions end above the typical BIN prices and most books go for a steal. There just are not enough people on the boards to justify a straight auction thread. If auctions are a dying breed on E-Bay then why would they work here where there are far less people.
  21. I sold mine a couple months ago for $115 off of E-Bay and people seem to get $125 or so on the boards. $100 would be low from what I've seen.
  22. The 2nd episode was much better in pretty much every way. It was a mix of X-Files and Supernatural and it really worked. I even likes the cool intro. Hope they can keep it up.
