  1. Haven't asked yet, still preliminary stuff. I'm concerned for fakes/scams. But, it's not the treasury/reprint edition. I can't imagine faking foxing/tanning/rusty staples if you were gonna fake it, though it's not out of the question if you really know what you're doing. There's also no way I buy it without seeing it and at least checking it out myself, though I'm no expert, that'd also make me feel a lot better.
  2. Pretty much where I'm at here If this is real and he's in for selling that is.
  3. Yea, the rusted staples are a concern, but.... Batman #1!
  4. I am having trouble believing this is a real copy of Batman #1. But this is what a seller sent to me, and I can't find anything wrong with it. I have not seen it in person yet, just these pictures so far. I am really swaying towards trying to buy this, but I also want to be sure it's not a fake, and I'm not sure if I'm missing anything.
  5. I get you're confused and frustrated. But, you should prolly re-read your original statement and what Pontoon said and learn to accept a little ribbing when you see it. As far as your actual question, I think some of these people gave good advice. On top of that I'd add that even CGC graded comics are still done by a human, and you may disagree with that human. Best thing to do, as I learned the very hard (and somewhat expensive) way is to learn to grade yourself, so you have an actual idea what you may be submitting so it doesn't happen again.
  6. I have thought about buying specific bags for everything, 700's for moderns, 725's for silvers/bronze's, etc.... And I still might. I don't mind the extra space from the 775's for Silvers and some Bronze's, but I do think something that fits better would look better.
  7. Of course it's excessive. But death just makes things cost more, happens with everything
  8. I mean, he did die.... So I'd imagine, for a legendary performer like Maradona, that would represent a massive bump in value.
  9. For moderns I use the, I think, 700's with halfbacks. Everything else is 775's with fullbacks. But I might invest in some of the GA/SA halfbacks for just the reason you said. If they are bigger, more room would be good.
  10. Thanks, that's sort of what I figured. I'll order one and see how it goes.
  11. Well, they don't fit in the standard ones. Is there a "Silver age" set of comic boxes?
  12. So, I've started moving my collection to the BCW Plastic long boxes. I like that they are sturdier and I can stack them higher if I need to, saving some space. But today I noticed that if I have GA/SA comics in a GA/SA mylite2 with a fullback, they do not fit in these boxes without turning them at an angle. Is there a specific style of box for these size books/bags/boards? Or should I just use the magazine size bin's?
  13. I'm on CPG. It's a good site, the owners/admins are pretty awesome. But I don't find that I make really any sales at all there. Again could be cause I'm just selling "stuff" though.
  14. I don't think there are other real options aside from Ebay on just run of the mill items. Sure I can sell the slabs and more expensive books on MCS or maybe C-link etc... But, and I could just be missing something (it has happened once or twice), for the smaller books, no place else accepts them for sale aside from Ebay. So I'll never get the opportunity to just move on from there. At least not until I've finished with my current project of selling off all my old stuff I no longer want to keep. And yes there's Craigslist or FB marketplace, but, mostly, no....
  15. Paul does the CCG cards, not sports. So not sure what the official policy is, or has been. But he definitely said it could be done with the CCG cards.
  16. I only recently transitioned from "own more books!" to "Buy stuff that makes me happy". So I've been slowly selling off old parts of my collection that I don't care about anymore, etc.. I have jumped feet first in to some of the craziness. Bought a few Silver and Modern keys at probably inflated prices. But, they did match up to the "Buy stuff that makes me happy" credo, so I don't feel too bad about it. Now that I've snagged a few of the keys I wanted (ST 110, ASM 361, BA 12, etc..) I've scaled back on the major buying to focus on selling off the stuff I just plain don't want and building up money for maybe a bigger book or two. Or a run of artists work, if that strikes my fancy.
  17. I think you can do in-person submissions again. I know you can for cards cause I remember a post from Paul about it not too long ago. It's one of those do the online forms, call them, arrange a time, show up and let them come out and take it out of your trunk/hatchback/back seat sort of non-contact things.
  18. Going to close this up in the morning. I think, for now, I've exhausted my capability to find cool stuff around the house to sell
  19. I had bought and read comics for years and years. Since I was a kid up until last year. With no real rhyme or reason, just buying to have more comics, etc.. I recently, like within the last 5 months or so, changed my attitude about it. My goal now is to collect cool artwork and characters I like. So, trying to get 2 things. All the first appearances of Spider-people (yes including AF15, that'll have to wait a while). And all the 1st appearances of the Joker people (yes, including Batman #1, another that will have to wait a while :)). Along with that is just cool art. There's a few new artists (Crain, Momoko, Dell'Otto) I really like so I'm always on the lookout for covers they've done and just sweet GA/SA covers that stick out to me. Along with that I'm slowly going back through all my old stuff and selling the stuff I really don't care about. I realized that collecting just for collecting's sake was useless. Haveta love it. Whatever that love means to you.
  20. Thread cleaned up a little, most prices lowered. Maybe more to come later, but I mostly am only finding old video games at this point. I'll keep looking though.
  21. Just to see if we have any gamers or game collectors in here. Gears of War 1, steelbook edition. Comes complete. I have played it, but only enough to finish it once Asking $16 $15
