  1. Yeah you’re probably right, time to flog #1 - #20 for a quick buck. Seems a rinse and repeat scenario for any donny cates series that gets going. It happened with Venom and now Hulk too, just buy the first few issues and you know there’s going to be a new bad guy in there somewhere.
  2. I’ve always thought it would be nice to be able to buy from these guys at a con or something, but being in the UK means that’s not happening. I need to find better cons here as it’s hard to find dealers to trust and want to spend big with for a key.
  3. Nocterra wasn’t too bad, new volume has just started now. I do find it insanely annoying though when new stuff gets hyped so quick that the current and next issue suddenly spikes before you have a chance to get it. It’s happening again with Thor just now after #20 got the new villain treatment and suddenly #21 is a £10 book to get hold of. Nonsense! Just means I’ll have to drop the title now as I’m not paying that to keep up with the story.
  4. Yeah I quite like something like Gemmint, Minthunter or Very Gary as they’re easy listening and usually quite snappy vids you can play in the background whilst pottering about.
  5. The main theme by Giacchino is on Spotify, I already love it. As for the film, I’m maintaining high hopes but still a shame we never got Afflecks version one last time (properly, not just a flash cameo).
  6. I’m getting the itch to start a run of DC keys. I’ve always been a fan of both the big 2 but 80% of my collection has been Marvel. Now I’m reading through threads like this and checking out prices for the cool silver age stuff. Unbelievable how much difference there is if you want to put together a run for a character like the flash or green lantern.
  7. Snyder run was really good. I didn’t think the New 52 was the worst thing overall, I quite enjoyed the excitement of the re boot at the time, they really went all in for a while at least. I’ve not felt that about any reboot attempt since, and when it comes to Batman this current era will likely just be remembered for its over use of the character. But yeah 50s and 60s are probably the hardest to re read now without skipping most of the pages… No denying the covers are still fun though!
  8. Romita Jnr is awesome. I agree not all his recent work is great, I wasn’t a massive fan of his run with DC, but his 90s work is one of the things that drew me in to Marvel comics. I love his rendition of Venom for example. In the ‘back from cgc thread’ there is a recent post of his ASM new way to die covers, I just love that style of Spidey.
  9. Based on Whedons history that has now been exposed, WB should be ashamed if they want anything to do with his version of JL. The Flash prelude comic series has surely got to follow ZSJL from a story perspective… 2017 flash basically didn’t do anything…
  10. Watched this in 2 parts now that it’s on Disney plus, it’s definitely near the bottom of the MCU rankings but I’m interested to see how and when they mix up the characters with others from the MCU. It should throw up some opportunities to bring out more in the characters.
  11. There are certain films I think captured such a perfect blend of cast, direction, score and timing that I could never see them being re made under the same name. For me it would be the likes of Back To The Future, The Terminator and Die Hard.
  12. I wonder if they secretly mean they wanted to plan for BA vs both Shazam AND the MOS…
  13. Almost a year since this came out. Hype was huge 12 months ago now, with that little glimmer of hope there may be more to follow some day…. I guess that’s pretty much been sidelined now. I’m sure it will get some online attention on its anniversary in March at which point I think I’ll treat myself to another watch. I love this film, and I hated the theatrical version. Which only makes it more significant to me to see how a film done as it was meant to can be so astoundingly different to a studio version.
  14. Sounds to me like this is for primarily for display/nostalgia purposes so personally it would be the ASM 316 if I was doing this. Forget the investment side of things, go with what will make you smile when you glance at it.
  15. Incredible at the time and still is now. The way it’s put together with the costumes, the stunts and the intensity they all bring! A million miles ahead of the hobbit films in my view and most other fantasy epic attempts to be honest.
  16. I thought they came close with the suit in BvS, that was a fantastic cloth looking suit with battle damage wear all over it. The new suit does at least allow for full movement of the head.
  17. Hard to know what to believe but whatever it’s going to be, this film is shaping up to be important for DC. I’d love for them to get a few hits this year. No matter what anyone says you can never count out anyone making a comeback later down the line. Wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if Snyder ends up doing another DC film in the future for example. It’s all just a big loop after all!
  18. Got my slipcase edition of volume 1 for Christmas. Looks so good on the shelf, been waiting to read this for ages. Love some of the prints I see in this thread but I think I’ve missed the boat on this series already so the collected editions will be the way to go. I’m just glad they get the prestige format treatment.
  19. Still waiting…. Fingers crossed this becomes a thing by the time we hit Fandome 2022
  20. I still get annoyed I hesitated on a purchase of this earlier in the year. It’s now on the 2022 want list, I don’t think I can leave it behind any longer.
  21. Pretty sure that’s a scene from Spider-Man 2 (2004)
  22. It’s like looking at a Jock variant cover. Nice.
  23. So glad to see the big guy turn out to be who we all wanted. Fingers crossed they keep the street level style shows coming, he can be such an amazing presence throughout.
  24. All accessible to browse and enjoy at any time! I’ve never seen collections stored that way but I think I love it…
  25. I’ve found some really nice (but expensive) looking Spider-Man prints online. Have a search for ‘Folio Society marvel’ and you can see some beautiful looking collected editions. I also noticed a print by ‘Taschen’ on its way in the new year, a fantastic looking print of the early silver age Spideys. It sounds like they may make more so some of those stories you highlight could come along.
