to me it is interesting that the increase in the number of auctions HA is now running really doesn't seem to have hurt them. for the material that i look at, most of it seems around where it should be and some of it on the higher side of normal. in general, no real bargains not no real headscratchers either.

it was just cap and the punisher.

UPDATE: The Zeck Punisher has SOLD For sale are some IDW Artists Editions that I have. One is the Mike Mignola Hellboy in Hell and other stories. This one is numbered 57/125 and has not been removed from the box- the photo supplied here is a "stock" photo as Mike drew virtually the same image 125 times. The second one for sale is the Mike Zeck: Mavel Classic Stories. Also remarqued, this one is numbered 71/100 and has been opened. the sketch is of the Punisher- I was hoping to get Captain america but that did not happen for me unfortunately. Hellboy is 600 dollars and includes shipping. The Zeck Pnnisher is 325 and this also includes shipping. I will ship overseas but shipping would be more (I'd have to get you a quote). Thank you!

that's great! i love katee- she was terrific in battlestar galactica and in longmire............ and even though the show "another life" is a trainwreck in general, she is really good in it. looking forward to seeing her in the mandalorian.

yes, some really good portfolios from sqp- the Black Widow by Gulacy, 2 really good Marvel Team Ups, the Michael Golden Doctor Strange, the Starlin Metamorphosis Odyssey............... there is a really nice one by Frank Brunner called "Stormbringer, the world of Elric"............

albert moy owns (or owned) the original art to the 1977 card. it is on his CAF gallery. BWS sent me and autographed that first card in 2002 when i purchased some art from him.

for the material that i follow- the stronger, more desirable pieces, things like the byrne ff page, the buscema ff 112 pages, etc..... i was very surprised at the final hammer for the j g jones black widow cover. everything else was kind of blah. it was a buyer's market for sure. could be that what gene says, that the market has cooled for non-A material.

I agree with you others. While i have not bought from tom in a long time, i did pick up many things from him early on. he did business the right way, in a friendly, professional matter and was quick to reply to questions. i wish him the best.

As far as dealing with the auction houses themselves, that has gone quite well. Every one has been very professional and helpful and flexible with me so no complaints there. As for the actual auctions themselves, that is another story. While it can be debated as to the quality of the material I have submitted to them, in my mind, in general, the pieces have all been at least respectable and probably deserved better fates. If I was not able to negotiate waiving the BP with heritage, I would really get hammered but even with that, my results, in my mind, are at least 15-20% below expectation, in general. I have also done much better in private deals. I am constantly amazed at the prices some pieces get (which mine don't)

I guess it tells you that you should always think about a reserve on something that is not slam dunk A-material. That was a great piece and deserved a better fate................... that poor guy probably is devastated but HA got their cut so they moved on..................
