Please note the applied insurance value (paid to CGC) only takes effect when CGC takes possession of the comics. Your insurance covers the comics while in transit. I'm curious how many other businesses operate this way where you pay a company insurance in the event they damage your property. Imagine taking your car in for service and the technician says, "Yes, it's $100 for an oil change, but your Porsche is valued at $150,000, so you also have to pay 10% of the fair market value in the event we damage your car. The total will be $15,100."

New Tax Reporting ($600 Threshold per year) and Consignments
Upgrayedd2 replied to telerites's topic in Comics General
When reporting taxes from eBay sales, not sure if an non-business can take the following into consideration: (1) time spent listing items (2) fees to list items (3) time reading and responding to inquires (4) time, fuel, and costs to drive and purchase packing materials (5) time spent carefully packaging the items (6) time spent driving to FedEX/UPS/DHL/USPS and standing in line to ship the items (7) time/costs (use of printer and ink) to print out any statement which may go in the package (8) shipping insurance (9) vehicle insurance (not the entire cost, but a portion) -

Not on my end. Tell me what you get for the following: 0010138012 This is for Nick Fury #1, 1966

@CGC Mike is the certification page down? no matter what number I enter, it states, "this item cannot be found..." I bring this to your attention as I saw earlier posts from members concerned a CGC comic may not be legitimate. Have a great day.

First and foremost, I am so happy to see CGC is providing Grader Notes for 9.8s and 9.9s. I just discovered you can have the following defects and get a 9.9 for the only 9.9 graded Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #1 (Marvel, 1968). CGC Grader Notes: Spine Small Chip Out Top Front Cover Small Crease I looked at the comic very close, and I believe the small crease is above the CCA box. However, the certification number did not appear in the registry when I looked it up: 0010138012. I'd like to know when this comic was graded.

Heard back from GoCollect: No plans to add pulps for the foreseeable future. However, they added they would check to see if this is something that could be considered sooner rather than later.

If you create a thread for Amazing Stories 1928, here are some interesting facts: Amazing Stories (1928) is the 1st appearance of Buck Rogers - predating his appearance in newspapers. Next was in a Kellogg's promotion (1933) followed by Famous Funnies #3 (1934), followed by newspaper comic strip reprints in Buck Rogers #1 (1940). I believe the next original comic story does no appear until Famous Funnies #209 (1953). Flash Gordon, who was created to compete against Buck, first appeared in newspapers as a comic strip (1934). His 1st appearance in comic books were reprints of those newspaper comic strips, King Comics #1 (1936). The next documented appearance was in Four Color #10 (1941). I cannot determine if this is color newspaper reprints or an original story. If it's a color reprint, the potential first original appearance of Flash in a comic book would be Flash Gordon #1 (1966). -
I looked for this issue on HA, but could not find it. When you come across the link, please do share. Found it: https://comics.ha.com/itm/pulps/horror/weird-tales-118-v22-4-popular-fiction-october-1933-cgc-fn-vf-70-white-pages/p/7369-265001.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515

Pulp pressing & cleaning. Is this really a good idea?
Upgrayedd2 replied to Bugfarm's topic in Pulp Magazines
The thought of cleaning a pulp worries me. More so for my pulps that appear to be above the 7.0 grade. And even scarier, some of these high grades look like a cleaning would make a significant difference. If I ever submit a high grade copy, I gonna over capture so many high-res images. Would be interesting to hear from (reputable) pulp cleaners on how pulps compare to comics wrt cleaning. -
I'd love to see a new price guide, but once this information gets populated on Key Collector, etc will there be a need for a printed guide?
