  1. Not sure what these means for the future of fast track during our Covid era, but I got a very unexpected surprise package before I thought it would even be worth my while to check on the status of: 39 books sent value slow boat received 6/17/20 25 of them "shipped" 6/24/20, back in my possession 6/30/20 other 14 of them shipped 7/2/20
  2. Please add the 7/53 Jesse James nn to the Avon Jesse James set. You list the annual, but not the Realistic reprint from 1953. Thanks. Slot Created. Thank you
  3. Nice list 90s Child. I'm surprised Robot Man didn't mention you overlooked one of the toughest-to-find Avon PCH books (he said he was chasing Avons 50 years ago), the remaindered Secret Diary of Eerie Adventures. Thanks for creating this topic.
  4. Take per PM: All Famous Police Cases 16, Crime Must Pay the Penalty 24 and Hand of Fates 11 and 25.
  5. Mollie, thanks for expanding the Avon Captain Steve Savage set, but you need to add points to the expanded issues of Captain Steve Savage that you've now listed; they are all at zero. Specifically, here are the books I've got listed for which the points are zero (and my suggested points would be somewhere around 75% of Overstreet for all but the nn, which should be around 100% due to Wally Wood art): nn 5.5, #6 (1950 series) 7.0, #7 (1950 series) 7.0, #6 (1954 series) 8.0, #9 (1954 series) 7.0, #10 (1954 series) 7.0.
  6. Mollie, per your suggestion let me officially request, now that show season is over and you can bear down, that the Peter Rabbit set be expanded to include the Peter Rabbit Jumbo Book. Tom
  7. Mollie, I see you expanded the Realistic Romances set to include 15, 16 and 17 (it formerly had only 1 through 8). Thank you. However, you included 9 through 14, but those issues don't exist unless you know something I haven't learned over the last few decades of trying to collect these books.
  8. Mollie, more Avons selling yesterday for more than 5 times what CGC awards for points (more than 14 times in one case): Slave Girl #1 CGC 5.0, sold for $754.80, CGC points are only 145. Buddies in the U.S. Army #1 raw fine sold for $216, CGC points for a universal 6.0 are only 22. Buddies in the U.S. Army #2 raw vg-f sold for $144, CGC points for a universal 5.0 are only 10.
  9. Mollie, ignore if you've addressed my 7/14/18 post. The Avon one-shot in my last listing (Phantom Witch Doctor) sold for nearly 10 times its CGC point rating, but I should also have mentioned the other Avon one-shot that was the most underpointed of the recent sales: Dead Who Walk CGC 4.0 sold this week on Comicconnect for $730, CGC points are only 57.
  10. Molly, some more recent sales that show prices 5-10X the points: Campus Romances 2 CGC 4.5 sold on Comiclink yesterday for $151, CGC points are only 29. Crimes by Women 9 CGC 3.0 sold on Comiclink yesterday for $280, CGC points are only 44. Phantom Witch Doctor CGC 4.0 sold on Comiclink yesterday for $483, CGC points are only 50. Terrors of the Jungle 4 CGC 6.5 sold on Comiclink yesterday for $837, CGC points are only $107.
  11. Mollie, thanks for fixing the Realistic Romances set. Can you look at the Captain Steve Savage Set? There are two series of number, a nn issue and 1 through 8 in the first series from 1950 through Jan. 1953, and a second series with issues numbered 5 through 13 spanning Oct. 1954 through June of 1956. The registry set simply runs nn through #13, one slot for each number even though there are two #s 5, 6, 7 and 8. I have both #6s, and the registry set says both are eligible for the #6 slot even though one is dated 8/52 and the other is dated 11-12/54. can you add 4 more slots for the 5-8 second series books?
  12. Could you also please create sets for four other Avon series that have several graded copies outstanding: Kit Carson 1-3, 5-8. You should include the "...and the Blackfeet Warriors," which is probably #4 since its date falls between 3 and 5. Penny 1-6. Sea Hound 1-4. Even though only 1 and 2 are Avons and 3 and 4 say they are Capt. Silver Syndicate publications, I'd lump them together. Sensational Police Cases nn, 2-4.
  13. Could you add a set for the Avon series Boy Detective? There are graded copies of every issue (the #1 with the later date in your census listing is actually #2 and I am sending it back for relabeling today).
  14. Hi Mollie, a few recent sales of Avon "good girl" type books for roughly 5 times more than the registry points being awarded: Saint 1 - a 5.5 copy sold this week on Comiclink for $666, CCGC points = 120. Slave Girl 1 - a 6.5 copy sold for $959 on Comiclink for $959 this week, CCGC points = 218. Strange Worlds 4 - an 8.0 copy sold this week on Comiclink for $5,128, CGC points = 1166.
  15. Mollie, the Realistic Romances set only includes issues 1 through 8. Could you please expand it to include issues 15. 16 and 17. You've got graded copies of at least 16 and 17 out there but no set slots for which they can be registered.
  16. Please ignore if you've addressed my 7/14/18 post re: Avon one-shots. Mollie, here's another book that just sold for more than 8 times its point value: Space Thrillers nn CGC 5.0 sold for $1560 on Heritage yesterday, current point value is only 188. It is indeed a scarce Avon one-shot and this pricing was not an aberration. Continued thanks for all you do trying to keep up.
  17. Thanks and none taken, good advice I suspect and worth more than a tuppence. I just wanted to give Mollie one or two posts rather than dozens, but I'll make future posts here more bite-sized and chewable, perhaps limited to three suggestions at most, such as these 3 PCH books: Haunted Thrills 16, raw F sold 1/1/17 on HA for $227.05, CGC points are only 75. Strange Mysteries 6, 6.0 copy sold for $386 6/22/18 on Clink, CGC points are only 75. Strange Mysteries 7, 6.0 copy sold for $400 1/26/18 on Clink, CGC points are only 75.
  18. Mollie, a few more observations about books that are selling for 3-8X the points CCGC award (and in one case more than 42 times higher than the CGC points): Ace Horror books. I see you upped the points considerably for some of the Baffling Mysteries books, thank you. Take a look at some of the other Ace horror lines. There aren't many reported sales but here are a few I found from the last 365 days for Web of Mystery: #6 7.0 for $286.80 (CGC points = 115) #7 8.0 for $549.50 (CGC points = 230); #14 5.5 for $190 (CGC points = 57); #16 5.5 for $239 (CGC points = 57); #27 5.0 for $190 (CGC points = 53). Here are some from the last year for Hand of Fate: #8 8.5 for $657.50 (CGC points = 469); #9 8.5 for $896.25 (CGC points = 268); #10 8.5 for $597.50 (CGC points = 268); #13 7.0 of $274.85 (CGC points = 69). Only a couple of The Beyond series sold within the last year on HA but they tell the same story; #18 raw F+ for $286.80 (CGC points = 71); #27 6.0 for $2,031.50 (CGC points = 48 !!!- CGC needs to recognize that this is a high demand SOTI book). Cow Puncher. I see you upped the points for #s 2 and 6, but the others with GGA covers (all but #1) are in higher demand also at 4-8X the points awarded. A #3 7.5 sold on Clink for $403, CGC points are only 84. A #5 6.5 sold for $286.80 on HA in 2016, but CGC points are only 50. A 7.5 copy of #5 sold 5/22/18 on Clink for $735 but CGC points are only 84 for that grade. Crime books. I'm noticing quite an uptick in the genre generally, though I only follow the Avon lines closely. I think they're misvalued by CGC much as PCH was 3 years ago. Again, sales data is sparse, but I notice the following: Parole Breakers #1 5.0 sold for $157 this past March on Clink (CGC points = 65), #2 8.5 sold for $675 on Clink 12/8/16 and would undoubtedly go for more now (CGC points = 268). Famous Gangsters: a #1 raw vg sold 2/2/14 for $105.16 (CGC points = 34), and an 8.0 copy sold 5/23/12 on Clink for $508 (CGC points = 206), but nothing more recent; a #3 sold on HA in 5.5 slight C-1 condition for $107.55 (CGC points = 9, as I read the chart). Gangsters and Gun Molls: a raw F- #1 sold 2 years ago on HA for $239 (CGC points = 90); #2 4.0 sold for $191.20 on HA, and another 4.0 last year sold for $187 on Clink (CGC points = 39), and a raw vg- #2 sold 7 months ago on HA fo $131.45 (CGC points = 34); a raw VG+ #3 sold for $203.15 on HA 9 months ago (CGC points = 42), and a certified 7.0 sold a couple of months before that on HA for $334.60 (CGC points = 110); a raw VG+ #4 sold 8/21/16 on HA for $155.35 (CGC points = 32), and a 5.5 sold for $165 1/27/17 on Clink (CGC points = 48). Murderous Gangsters: #1 raw vg sold on HA earlier this year for $382 (CGC points = 58), and a 5.0 sold on Clink last year for $475 (CGC points = 83); I think you've got the points about right on #2 but it's not worth 8X what the #1 is worth yet you award it 8 times as many points. Police Lineup: I couldn't find many recent sales but I see that an 8.0 copy of #3 sold on Clink for $275 on 12/8/16, a bargain price today I am sure, yet the CGC points for 8.0 are only 111. Even the reprint series, All-True Detective Cases, deserves a bump: a 6.5 copy of #4 sold on Clink last year for $120 (CGC points = 34). L.B. Cole books. I think you should look around at how you are awarding points for books with cover art by L.B. Cole. Examples: All-Famous Police Cases #9, a 5.5 copy sold on HA 5/13/18 for $262.90, CGC points are only 42. Horrors 13. A 6.5 copy sold on Clink for $201 less than 2 years ago, CGC points are only 79. Terrors of the Jungle values are off by 4-7X for many or most of the books: #19 had a 6.5 copy sell on HA last month for $552, CGC points are only 96; a 7.0 copy of #4 sold two months ago on HA for $1,195, CGC points are only 150; for #8 a 4.0 copy sold last month for $240 (CGC points only 50), and a 5.5 copy last year on HA for $304.73 (CGC points only 73); a 6.5 copy of #10 sold two months ago for $310.70 on HA, but CGC points are only 107. Shocking Mystery Cases #60, the most common of the series, had a 6.0 copy sell 3 months ago on HA for $143.40 (CGC points = 45) and a 9.0 copy sell on HA less than 3 years ago for $776.75 (CGC points = 335). Romance books. Again, I follow the Avon lines and not the humor/GGA types like Hedy or Nellie or the like. Look at Realistic Romances: a raw F copy of #1 sold 3 years ago on HA for $286.80 (CGC points = 61); a 7.5 copy of #2 sold on Clink 4/28/17 for $277 (CGC points = 63); a 6.0 copy of #3 sold on Clink 3 months ago for $176 (CGC points ??, chart isn't complete); a 7.5 copy of #4 sold on Clink 4/28/17 for $340 (CGC points = 53); a 9.0 copy of #6 sold for $475 on Clink 6/1/17 (CGC points = 220). Romantic Love; an 8.5 copy of #2 sold for $706 on Clink 6/1/17 (CGC points = 218); a 4.5 copy of #4 sold on HA 4/1/18 for $358.50 (CGC points = 26); a 4.5 copy of #9 sold of $143.40 on Clink 9/3/17 (CGC points = 27); and a 5.0 copy of #10 sold for $126 on Clink 1/26/18 (CGC points =34). Intimate Confessions; most sales are of the classic #1 with the come hither type cover, which definitely needs the points upped along with the others in the series - a 5.0 copy of #1 went for $717 a little less than two years ago on HA (CGC points = 160), and two raw copies both graded G have sold recently on HA for $120 and $143 (CGC points = 48); a raw F- #4 sold 9/10/17 for $104 (CGC points = 40); two 8.0 copies of #7 sold in 2016 on Clink for $375 and $414 (CGC points = 140). Space Detective. There are some pending auctions that may tell you more when completed but I wonder about #1. There was a 6.0 copy sold three months ago in a Heritage auction for $956, CGC points are only 213. I appreciate you patience in reading this and hope it will help with your ongoing maintenance of the registry.
  19. Mollie, I'm editing this now that I see you are catching up, and I'm adding additional comparable sale information for various books in this set through the end of November. Take a look at the point allocations for some of the Avon one-shots. Here are the ones that stand out as being worth 3X to 14X the point allocations based on recent sales prices: Behind Prison Bars. A 4.5 sold for $262.90 on HA 5/13/18. CGC points for a 4.5 are only 34, or less than 1/7th the sales price. Complete Romance. I've never understood why the reprint, Women to Love, gets a much higher point award. A 6.0 copy of Complete Romance sold for $232 on Clink 1/27/17; CGC points are less than 1/3rd of this at only 76. Dead Who Walk. A 6.5 copy sold for $717 on HA 7/2/17; CGC points are only 122. Other sales: 9/25/18 Comicconnect 4.0 copy for $730 (points = 57), 11/17/18 Heritage 4.5 copy $750 (points = 65). Diary of Horror. A 5.5 sold for $402 3/31/17 on Clink and a raw F-/5.5 sold on HA for $657.25 12/3/17. CGC points for a 5.5 are 79, roughly 1/8th of the recent raw sales price. Flying Saucers nn. A raw F- just sold last week on HA for $288; CGC points for a 5.5 copy of this book are only 82. Going Steady with Betty. A 7.5. sold for $310.70 on HA 3/22/15, another 7.5 sold for $328 on Clink 1/27/17, and a raw vg sold for $114 on HA 2/18/18. CGC points for 4.0 = 14, for 7.5 = 50, less than 1/6th the selling prices. A6.5 copy sold by Heritage 11/17/18 for $132 (points = 30). Hooded Menace. A 6.5 sold for $425 9/13/17 on Clink. A vg- sold for $158.94 and a vg-f sold for $286.80 on HA in 2016. The CGC points for a 6.5 are less than 1/4th of last year's sales price. Mask of Dr. Fu Manchu. A 4.0 sold for $318 on Clink 3/15/18. CGC points are only 140. Night of Mystery. A raw vg-f sold on HA for $155.35 6/26/16, and a 5.0 sold on Clink for $186 on 1/27/17. CGC points for this grade are only 68. Phantom Witch Doctor. a 4.5 sold for $450 on Clink 3/24/16, and a 7.0 sold for $597.50 on HA 12/18/16. CGC points are 57 and 149 for these two grades, or 1/8th and 1/4th the sales prices for these grades. Also 3.0 copy sold on Clink 10/25/18 for $432 (points = 36), a 7.0 copy sold on Clink 11/29/18 for $1932 (points = 149). Prison Riot. A 7.5 copy sold for $248 a little less than three years ago, nearly triple the 94 points CGC awards for the grade. Reform School Girl. A 6.5 sold for $9,560 on 2/22/18. An 8.0 sold for $16,730 a year earlier on 2/23/17, and would likely sell for more now. CGC points for 6.5 = 1500, and for 8.0 = 4200, 1/6th and 1/4th this year's and last year's sales prices respectively. Robotmen of the Lost Planet. Recent sales are 7.5 copy on Clink 12/8/16 $1,320 (points = 450), 2.5 copy on Clink 7/26/18 for $$205 (points = 72), 2.0 raw on Heritage $161.33 (points = 54). Rocket to the Moon. A 6.0 copy sold on Heritage 11/17/18 for $780 (points = 239). Sideshow. An 8.5 copy sold on Heritage 11/17/18 for $2640 (points = 402). Space Thrillers. 5.0 copy sold Heritage 8/19/18 for $1560 (points = 188). Western Bandits. Even the westerns are out of whack. A 7.0 sold on Clink for $292 last year while the CGC points for a 7.0 are only 41. Many others strike me as inordinately low, though the books are so scarce and change hands so rarely that there is no recent sales date available. Atomic Spy Cases is assigned 33 points for a vg copy, but a vg copy sold for 3X that two years ago. CGC lists points for Sideshow as 11 for a 0.5 copy while My Comic Shop wants $169 for the poor/0.5 copy they have because they know how scarce the book is. Space Thrillers is also acknowledged by Gerber to be scarce and Metropolis wants $300 for an extensively restored (piece replaced) copy they grade at F+, but CGC would only award 281 points for a totally unrestored 6.5. Metro wants $80 for what they call a "scarce" vg copy of King Solomon's Mines that CGC would award less than half as many points for owning, etc., etc. I don't envy you trying to keep up with a vibrant and dynamic market, but your efforts in response to my prior observations are appreciated.
  20. Thanks for the fix on some of the PCH I mentioned. I've looked at a few more books and I'll limit this request to the ones that are worth ten times or more than the current points awarded by CGC: Out of This World 1, the Avon one-shot: VG+ sold 9/3/17 for $203, CGC points = 14; 5.0 sold 3/2/17 for $347, CGC points = 17. Brick Bradford 6: 6.5 sold 3/6/18 for $1,071, CGC points = 71; 8.0 sold 11/28/17 for $2100, CGC points = 200. Phantom Lady 23: 6.5 sold 9/8/16 for $4,958, CGC points = 320; 4.0 sold 11/6/17 for $2,868, CGC points = 150; 8.0 sold 2/22/18 for $14,340, CGC points = 880. Cowboy Comics 13 (Centaur): 6.0 sold 6/13/17 for $5,500, CGC points = 299. Cox Puncher 6: 5.0 sold 1/7/18 for $526, CGC points = 44. Murderous Gangsters 2: 6.5 sold 10/6/17 for $750, CGC points = 58. Prison Break 2: 6.0 sold 11/29/17 for $515, CGC points = 53; 5.5 sold 2/24/18 for $454, CGC points = 48. Baffling Mysteries 7: VG sold yesterday 3/18/18 for $1105!!!, CGC points = 34. Witchcraft 2: 5.5 sold 12/18/16 for $1,450, CGC points = 140; 4.0 sold 9/8/16 for $927, points = 81. You also ought to look at the other books in the series of these, e.g. Baffling Mysteries 5 had a sale 9 mo. ago at 3X the CGC points; Murderous Gangsters 1 had a sale 2 months ago at 7X; Cow Puncher 2 had a sale earlier this month of an 8.5 copy at $1,288 with a point allocation of only 315; other Phantom Ladies within the last months at 3X for PL 13, 14 and 18, 4X for PL 16, 6X for PL 20, 7X for PL 21.
