I've been curious about an artwork which we previously discussed on a different CGC thread. We were talking about the earliest Batman original art and someone pointed me to this: It's 1940, and the Nazis have just invaded France and banned all American comics. At the same time, a company called Sagedition have just purchased the rights to publish DC material in France. What do they do? They call Batman "Le Justicier" and get some French artists to re-draw Batman stories, starting with Detective Comics #30 (cover dated August 1939). Their first magazine is published in September 1940, called "Les Grandes Aventures" and contains this page of Batman material. The earliest pages of American batman art come from Batman #9 and #13 (March-October 1942). So I wonder - Could this be the earliest original art featuring Batman? If you want to quote this post please remove the images so this thread doesn't become a mile long. Thanks

I would appreciate any help because I admit of being a total rookie on this type of grading. I have owned this for many years and like to understand how best to submit for grading or consider maybe selling raw? This copy has a detached centerfold I don't know how much that impacts the grade but IMO the book otherwise is fantastic. This is my first ever post after reading many years and come to appreciate your guys knowledge and insight. Any guesses to a grade? Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I’m very new here to the CGC boards, but have been collecting for a few years. Would anyone be so kind as to offer their opinion on how much this little tear issue on the top of the back cover of my Batman Mad Love would hurt the grading? Thank you.

I will be listing 20 slabbed comics tonight. I'm going to try to do this in plain old alphabetical order. Sometimes, I skip something and they are out of order, but it's not intentional;) I added a few Wonder Womans that are technically SA. I take Paypal or checks. I pay for private insurance so that is included. If the book is over $250, it must go signature required. I take returns for any reason, but you must let me know within 3 days of receipt and the book must be returned within 7 days shipped the way I sent it and packed it.. Buyer pays return shipping. First Take it wins, but I must see the take it if it's in a pm, if I have not acknowledged a take it in a pm, and someone posts one on the boards, then the board one wins (because it's sometimes hard to see the time in a PM). Payment is due within 3 days unless we have an agreement about payment before you post a take it. I have a rationale for the prices on some of the books, if I don't, it's because I ran out of time. Hi everyone, Continuing a theme I started about a year ago, I'm offering a handful of CGC (all of which I submitted for grading) and one raw book up for sale, and I'm selling them because I've decided to slightly reduce my collecting focus. All but three of these books were purchased between 2000 and 2003 when I first got into collecting Silver Age comics, and as far as I can tell none of them have been pressed. Those of you who've sold raw books to me in the past know I ask a bunch of questions when I'm interested in a book, and I can say that none of these books have: Loose or detached staples Rusty staples A loose or detached centerfold Spine splitting Soiling, water damage, stains or fingerprints unless noted Tears unless noted Chipping or dents unless noted Major creases Any printing defects (printers creases, smudges, etc.) Any interior defects (tears, missing page corner chips, etc.) I will charge exact shipping to ship these books insured via USPS Priority Mail, and the shipping cost will depend on the number of books you buy and your location (I'm willing to ship anywhere in the world, but I know USPS Priority Mail shipping costs are high outside of the U.S. ). I accept PayPal, checks or money orders. The first gets the book, but I will also listen to offers via PM.
