The incredibly rare Batman #457 2nd print newsstand is up for auction at heritage auctions with one day to go. This book belonged to a friend of mine that decided to sell a couple books to help pay for some student loans. He's the original owner of this book that I got to see in person. It graded a CGC 9.0, and is one of only 56 copies of this book on the census. He was also told this is the first time that Heritage has auctioned this book. The past couple years I've only seen this book come up for sale a handful of times so don't miss out! There was a time when I thought I wanted to be a comic book illustrator ,maybe do some covers etc . With that in mind I created a portfolio and started bringing it around. It did get me some work as a colorist for Jim Shooters Defiant Comics (remember them?) and a teaching position at the Kubert School but that was about it so I went back to a career in Fine Arts. The top right corner of the cover is bent a bit and I'm not sure what that line is in the black that only shows up in the corner close-up. There is also a hanging chad at the bottom corner of the spine.

Our inaugural exhibition was a homage to Katsuhiro Otomo and showcased almost 30 international artists creating works paying tribute to Otomo's "Akira". Opening July 1st, the gallery will be exhibiting drawings by Dave McKean from his 2012 graphic novel Black Dog: The Dreams of Paul Nash. Hi - I'm joining the enlightened folks who sell their CGC comics here rather than eBay, despite the more limited readership. I have to raise my prices too much there or lose money, and their new system of categorization is frustrating, as is their endless tinkering that makes me update "policies" just to select shipping prices appropriate to the item. No more! Because of that, I'll be listing my CGCs here. I will endeavor to provide photos (allow me a couple days to list them here and take them down from eBay). The hardcovers, trades and other stuff is over there still (am I allowed to say you can message me here about those to make a deal?). But most of my CGCs...here! And because they're here, that means, at a minimum, the price is decreased compared to how I priced them on eBay by as little as 10%, give or take, but often 12% or more. I'd like to see long box after long box disappear from my place over the next year before I head overseas again, but hopefully before then. I'll post comics as I receive them and set the asking price. These prices are in U.S. dollars and are the minimum price - please don't ask me to go below that amount as I'm already keeping most at cost just to keep stock flowing out of my home. Over time, I'll work to additionally sell to and ship to Canada - another price (due to international transaction fees) will be given and shipping costs will differ.
