Hi all, I’m fairly new to collecting comics and have never submitted to CGC before. I’d like to know what the community thinks about my Fantastic Four 65 since I am planning on sending ~10 books to CGC soon. Very noticeable defects include the creases on the front cover corners, some wear from the staples on the spine, and what appears to be water damage on the back cover? I’m not sure how much these defects will knock down the grade and would love to learn which defects carry more weight than others. Thank you for your time!

Dear boardies, Below is a raw Fantastic Four 48 for sale. Book obtained as part of the "Sleeping Giant Collection" currently advertised in the Mixed Age Thread. Please review the following Grading: Book presents incredibly well with significant gloss and snow white pages. Great alignment, with no classic miss-wrap and lays flat. 1/4inch tear to back outer edge 1/8 inch bottom middle of the book pen scribble to top page, right upper corner and right upper edge with slight pen bleed through on inner page. This book has not been pressed to my knowledge. My opinion VG/FN (5.0) In short, grading is always subjective, so I will provide as many pictures for you to determine the grade for yourself. If more images are required I'm more than happy to provide. Will be shipped securely, insured with priority tracking. PayPal only! No return, sale final.

This is my first submission here (I'm a little nervous). It's a Silver Age Fantastic Four 61 with Kirby drawn Sandman. The book appears to have been pressed before I purchased it several years back. My low end estimate is My high end estimate is Clean copy. Edges look very nice for a Silver book. Tiny wave near the spine causing some reflectivity (not wear) back at the camera. Minor top edge stress Tight spine without any noticeable color breaking stress lines A flat back, but whose color is no longer white Many thanks for looking!

Here is a beautifully detailed page by the great John Buscema from Marvel’s flag ship book Fantastic Four #298. These are pure pencils (not layouts) by JB with inks by brother Sal Buscema. Spaceships ,monstrous villain, and Reed and Sue appearing in two panels ,what could be better ? I’ll tell you whats better …..How about some John Buscema pencil sketches on the back. (Looks like Pirates “Did ya say gold?”) There’s a guy on ebay asking $699 for a page from the same book and this one is better and over $100 cheaper. I don’t have to tell you guys that Big John’s artwork has been sky rocketing so consider this page for your collections before I change my mind. I have this issue in original form but also have this other copy that is the exact same yet the colors are very different like it has a bleached look to it. But there is no sign of sun damage and it is in great condition. Very glossy and untouched. It looks like an alternate cover and the details are so perfect and vibrant I rule out the sun damage idea. I’m just here for an opinion and maybe an answer to what this copy is. I can’t find anything online to support this. It’s almost like it was a prototype of some sort.

Thanks for your thoughts and wondering in particular since I’ve yet to have a comic cleaned/pressed, how much you think back cover could be improved and impact on grading. I didn’t buy this new - I’m old but not that old - but have owned it for over 45 years. Have always loved this cover. In fact that run of covers issues #72-75 is amazing.
