None of us have the resources to collect everything we want; all of us are forced to make choices. It’s a big world out there, and every genre we collect is at the cost of another. is there a book in your collection that, to you, is so representative of a genre that you can look yourself in the mirror and say “I’m done”? Is there a book in your collection that is so representative of a genre that you feel free to move on? I was big into WWII war covers, but realized very quickly I couldn’t get em all. So I’ve settled on my favorite cover and released the rest. Then, @Ricksneatstuff got me into GGA, and there I went, chasing a different flock of geese. @Gotham Kid got me into Pre-Robin Tecs, same result. Yesterday there appeared a thread about a piece of John Buscema art that had just sold on the Bay, and @delekkerste said “it’s the closest thing to a one-and-done piece you'll find that encapsulates an era”. It’s what gave me the idea for this topic. Anyway, below is the Buscema piece, followed by a couple of books that, for me, scratch the itch for a couple different genres, and releases me to turn my attention elsewhere. is there such a book in your collection? Deets - in thread Paypal Goods/Services No Returns I have no idea if there is interest in these. I had three years of German in HS but that was 40 some odd years ago so I can't translate much. I did look up the titles and evidently the Kommissar X is relatively well-known with seven films made. I am not sure if the Die Ratte film is based on the one Die Ratte pulp. There are two Rebel Kriminal Romane and one coverless (missing FC and BC) Nat Pinkerton. Some do have some interior text illos. It looks like they are all crime fiction series. They appear complete except the Nat Pinkerton as noted. Average G/VG. One of the Rebel has glue along spine. Small pencil marks on first page. I included one pic to show. I have no idea what price to put on them. I found a few similar Kommissar on Ebay Germany. I'll try $35 OBO plus $4 media mail for US. If any international boardies are interested, will have to get a quote. Any interest at $15 shipped (US)?

Been a little while, been buying too much, and just got some books back from CGC, so that means I should probably sell a couple books . . . so take a gander and if you like something, buy it! I'll be listing about 22 books today. Most are Golden Age with a few Silver Age sprinkled through. I usually just list alphabetically unless I accidentally skip something. Some of them are from the Evelyn collection and fairly scarce, so as usual, I'm guessing on some of the prices. If I am off feel free to make an offer (up or down;) Some of these books I've had for at least 15 years, some I purchased last year, but I've made a few purchases recently and I want to be able to bid in an upcoming auction, so I made some choices;) (like we all do:) Most of these were slabbed by me, so if you want the graders notes, let me know and if I have them, I'll post them. I posted the notes for restored books, but the others are pretty common comments. I usually think CGC's grading is a bit higher than mine, but this batch was pretty tightly graded in comparison to prior submissions, but take a look at the books and decide. I'm using a fairly old slab scanner, so the colors might be brighter in person. I will add a cell photo for any book if requested. Payment is expected within 5 days, if you cannot make payment within 5 days please contact me before posting a take it. Reasonable time payments are possible, but we must agree to them prior to posting a First here or in a pm wins, if there is no way to determine the time, then the one on the boards wins. I accept Paypal, checks, or MO's. Every few sales I suggest something like diamond earrings...I've never got an offer for diamond earrings, but that's always something I'd consider (maybe;) please don't raid your wife's jewelry box and blame me;) I ship anywhere, and I charge exact shipping. I prefer to double box slabs, but I'm OK if you really really want me to stuff the book in a Medium FR box. I ship priority mail unless you are in Canada. If you are in Canada, I will ship first class (up to 4lbs) but anything over $200 to Canada needs a signature or a waiver from you. If you want to risk no signature it's OK, but my insurance only covers up to $200 without a signature. I pay for private insurance. My house is smoke free (Lizards can laugh now;) Returns for any reason, just notify me within 3 days of receipt. These are all slabbed, so return shipping is at the buyer's cost. The Books Gold/atomic age comics. Some are new listings. Some have been listed before. I will put them up as the mood strikes over the next few days. General Rules No PL/HOS members The new board software does not display precise thread post times (either in PMs or in sales threads), which can result in the inability to determine whether a PM post or thread post came first. One thing remains certain - it is easy to tell whether one post in a thread came before another post in the same thread. So, the first "take it" posted in the sales thread wins. If we reach a deal via PM, I'll mark books SOLD in the thread as soon as reasonably possible - but if someone else takes the book in the thread before your PM take is acknowledged in the thread (by either you or I), the thread poster is the winner, I'm afraid; so, there is some risk of losing a book if you try to remain anonymous via PM. (Credit to EC Ed for these rules. I have adapted them with his permission) I kindly ask that you not Quote a book and then make a comment. It makes the book appear to be sold. Payment I'll take PayPal for total sales under $1000 if PayPal is your preferred method. Personal checks, or USPS money orders for total sales $1000 or higher. When the thread is over an invoice will be sent with PayPal address. I'll expect payment within 10 calendar days of invoice, or the book will be available for sale again (unless we've made other payment arrangements) Time payments are available for purchases of $2500 or more with20% non-refundable deposit and installment payments so purchase is paid in full no later than 90 days and up to 120 days can be available for $10,000 or more (please PM first). There are NO RETURNS on CGC graded books. If it comes back a 4.0 you can return the book if you want for a full refund plus your shipping to me).

This is my first attempt of selling on the boards, although I’ve purchased items from various members here. Here’s the fine print: No PL/Hall of Shamers. The first “Take” wins. Please review photos carefully and ask any questions beforehand. I accept check or money order. I’ll accept PayPal as well. Shipping will be FREE, full insured Priority mail for the lot (CONUS only). Unless a different method is worked out beforehand, magazines will be gently sandwiched between cardboard slabs, wrapped in bubble wrap, and sent in a CLink box, although I’m open to suggestions. Returns are fine within 7 days of receipt, but Buyer must cover return costs, and items must be returned in their original condition. -
Happy Sunday All! It’s been a while since I’ve been on the boards and there’s so many of you’ve that probably wondered where I’ve been all this time. Well, taking care of two little kids can explain it all. I’ve still been collecting on and off when I could. I’ve missed the old board members and missed doing those recaps for you all back then. The reason why I’m back is the Mrs needs a new car and she’s giving me the side eye to help her fund a good down payment for her new car. She currently has a 2006 Honda Civic that is on it’s last leg and I can’t have her driving the kids in the clunker for safety reasons. Anyways, I’m back to list some GA/SA/BA books. There will be some nice books towards the end.. saving the best for last! Below are the rules… 1. No probation folks please. 2. Paypal, check, money orders are accepted. Payments must be received at least one week after I send invoices out unless we discuss a payment plan. Time payments accepted, but please discuss with me via PM beforehand. 3. Take it in thread trumps PM unless I state otherwise. I will try to keep the thread updated on status’ of books. ie: Book is on hold via PM. Books on hold will trump 'take it' in thread as I'm working with buyer on sell of said book. 4. CGC graded books - no returns. Raw books - returns accepted after 14 days of shipment date. Please contact me via PM if books are not as described or you find any other issues with the book(s) that I may have missed. I will try to provide as much details about the raw books as possible. Apologies if I miss any issue(s) with them in advance. 5. Shipping cost: in the US: $12 for raw books (1-8 books) $15 for graded books (1-5 books) outside of the US: whatever it costs me to ship to you.
