The incredibly rare Batman #457 2nd print newsstand is up for auction at heritage auctions with one day to go. This book belonged to a friend of mine that decided to sell a couple books to help pay for some student loans. He's the original owner of this book that I got to see in person. It graded a CGC 9.0, and is one of only 56 copies of this book on the census. He was also told this is the first time that Heritage has auctioned this book. The past couple years I've only seen this book come up for sale a handful of times so don't miss out! Thanks for checking out the post and the auction. https://comics.ha.com/itm/modern-age-1980-present-/superhero/batman-457-newsstand-edition-second-printing-dc-1990-cgc-vf-nm-90-white-pages/a/122137-13189.s

Covid definitely started me down the collecting rabbit hole again. I have been going through lots of my old 90s books and reviewed the Marvel debacle which was the Deluxe books. From November 1994 to April 1996 there appears to be 2 versions of each of the x-men titles. The Deluxe version which has nicer interior paper for 1.95 and the regular versions for 1.50. It looks like both the direct market and the newsstand versions seem to exist for each of these, which I seem to vaguely remember. I was out of HS and going to college at the time so my comic book collecting had fallen off. Did they do Deluxe for other titles outside of x-books? I know the Newsstands are more rare than the direct, but I am wondering if there is any evidence if the normal version were ordered more because they were cheaper, or if the deluxe versions were ordered more? The Newsstand ones all appear to have the Still Only 1.50 markings on them. Has this been covered in other threads which I have been unsuccessful in finding? I love reviewing comic book history the 90s produced some much variance it is interesting to see which stuff was truly rare which may have gone under appreciated for the time period.

golden age OLD SCHOOL COMIC SHOW, Concord, New Hampshire
TerrysComics posted a topic in Comic Events
Little Giant Comics OLD SCHOOL COMIC SHOW Everett Arena in Concord NH April 28th from 10a-5p This will be an OLD SCHOOL comic show like back in the day, GREAT COMICS, GREAT ART & THE ARTISTS THAT CREATED THEM! Here's the deal, I wanted to create the kind of show I would want to attend. GREAT COMICS, GREAT ART & ARTISTS! I want to enter a room filled with amazing comics, incredible art and talented artists, I don't think that's too much to ask. Seems like every show I attend only has a small amount of comic vendors (usually the same 3 or 4 people I see at every show), the rest of the floor is fidget spinners, Cosplay stopping in front of your booth for photo shoots, sweaty ROOT BEER mugs everywhere dripping on your comics or art, Pirates running around, knick knack patty whacks, energy drinks, Ice Cream vendors and flea market fodder........ NO MORE I SAY!! Little Giant Comics OLD SCHOOL COMIC SHOW- 47 replies

Wolverine #1 CGC (MINT) 9.9 W - (Best in the World!) - RARE Opportunity! (Up for Auction on Pedigree Comics!) Click the following link to PLACE YOUR BID ----> https://www.pedigreecomics.com/auction/comic/058261/wolverine-1-cgc-99-w-professor-pecora-collection Wolverine #1 showcases the 1st Wolverine as Patch! After a successful four part miniseries published from September-December of 1982, it took a little over 6 years before Wolverine was honored with his ongoing solo title apart from the X-Men! Published in November of 1988, right around the time of Halloween, not only does the dark imagery perfectly display the raw savagery of Wolverine, but it was very fitting that the Wolverine logo was inked in orange for superior marketing. The cover art drawn by the late John Buscema is a certified classic! A victorious Wolverine is featured standing on a pile of dead bodies with his shirt torn off his muscular physique and his pants slashed open, while his razor sharp claws are being ejected from his forearms with a full moon lighting up the midnight sky! In addition, the full-length Wolverine back cover pin-up drawn by the legendary John Byrne is awesome! Officially graded in June of 2016, my copy became the “13th” CGC Universal 9.9 in existence! This is of MAJOR SIGNIFICANCE because prior to my copy being added to the CGC Census, THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANOTHER WOLVERINE #1 CGC UNIVERSAL 9.9 GRADED IN OVER 5 YEARS!!! So just how rare is this book? Well according to the CGC Census Report as of April 4, 2017, there are a whopping total of 7,243 copies graded to date! Out of those 7,243 copies, only 13 were blessed with the Universal 9.9 grade (with only 1 copy graded higher), which means that this copy represents 1/10 of 1% or 0.001% (one-thousandth percent) of the total population! Now that’s RARE! The next question one might ask is…“how much is it worth?” To put this in perspective, on June 10, 2016, the single highest graded Wolverine #1 CGC Gem Mint 10.0 sold for an astonishing $17,644 on Comic Connect! With over 7,240 copies already professionally graded and being a dark cover in which the smallest of defects are detectable, it’s highly unlikely that another 10.0 copy will emerge, let alone another 9.9 anytime soon! Therefore, this book will definitely command a pretty penny! As a matter of fact, this CGC 9.9 white-paged specimen may very well be the finest known 9.9 copy in existence! It is PERFECTLY wrapped, cut and centered with perfectly inserted staples and a drum-tight spine! The color saturation is deep and vivid and looks like it was printed yesterday! Not even the single 10.0 copy is perfectly cut and wrapped like this pristine beauty! Furthermore, if you compare this copy to other CGC 9.9 examples, you will see that it is more perfectly wrapped and centered and displays superior aesthetic qualities! This specific copy of Wolverine #1 CGC 9.9 W; a world class example of one of the most significant issues to emerge from the Copper Age of Comics will shine brightly in any CGC collection of the most discerning collectors! The Pedigree Comics' April Grand Auction Commenced on Monday, April 3, 2017 and Comic Book lots will begin closing on the eve of Wednesday, April 12, 2017. To bid on this Pristine GEM that presents better than any other Wolverine #1 in the Universe click on the following link -----> https://www.pedigreecomics.com/auction/comic/058261/wolverine-1-cgc-99-w-professor-pecora-collection Happy Collecting and Good Luck!! -Professor Pecora
