Book looks super nice and glossy, lays flat, staples attached, 100% complete no resto, the real defects are spine wear. Some tanning on BC but presents well. Looks 7.0-7.5 maybe higher. Asking $230

Hey guys, so I've got a pretty good lead on some potentially valuable comic books. I posted in a facebook swap and buy group that I would buy old comic collections, and got a reply from someone saying they have a rubber maid container full of old comics and they aren't sure what they are worth but want me to take a look. I tried asking for more information, if it was mostly Marvel or DC ect. but all they said in reply was "Everything 60s to mid 70s I think" Apparently this guy needs to go through his storage room and actually find the comics, so I have a couple days to prepare. My goal is to buy whatever he has for a reasonable price, and sell some of it to pay for the purchase. Now I have no idea what he is thinking price-wise . . . but I'd like to have a list of Key/expensive comics from the 60s/70s that I could study so when I go to look at them I can recognize if there are any expensive comics hidden in there. I have a okay grip on which Marvel comics would be worth some cash but could still use a help with those, and I am pretty clueless with DC and other publishers. Does such a list exist somewhere? Would anybody like to help me out? EDIT: Also if anyone has any general advice on how to figure out what to offer this guy it would be appreciated. Obviously I want to get them for as cheap as I can, but I don't want to start off with an offer so low I just insult the guy. How do you guys come up with a price value when making an offer on something like this? -
Hey all, I asked this in the newbie forum a couple days ago but didn't really get an answer so I figured I'd try here. I have a lead on someone looking to sell a rubbermade container full of silver-age comics (1960s to mid 70s is what they told me). They want me to come look and make an offer. I'm wondering if someone has a list of Silver Age key comics I could study prior to meeting this person, so if I see an valuable comic I will know I can barter higher when it comes time to talk money. Somebody suggested taking a price guide with me, but I worry the guy selling them would start looking up prices (which are usually inflated in the price guides compared to ebay) and ask for a ridiculous amount of money. But I would like to have a list to study so if I see for example Batman 139 in decent shape I will know "okay he's asking a lot but I can sell that one comic and make back 300 bucks no problem." Ok, like the title says 100 books only in this thread, NO DREK. There will be a few 'semi-keys or rarer OSPG break out books under 9.2, but even those will be killer copies of harder to find examples. I will not be going in any order, totally random, just the best 5-6 books from every box I opened. Since I'm doing notes, 25 books a day for 4 days and that's it. Now on to the 1. The first person in the thread to post the gets it. 2. Accept PayPal, Check and Money Order 3. Shipping will be $6.50 for the first 5 RAW inside the US. With all the talk of runs vs keys, I've been thinking about what the most collectable SA Marvel run of say the first 20 or 30 issues would be. In some ways, it's a hybrid form of collecting as it's not solely focused on keys but also takes up less room than being a completist? For example, I love my early ASMs for the soap opera stories and Ditko art but they cost a lot in mid grade and there are lots of keys. On the other hand, JIM has great Kirby covers and prices are shockingly affordable. If you were starting out as a collector today, which main title from the early 60's would you put together? Where would you start and stop your run? What grade would you target?

PGM Silver Surfer 6 1st time submission I stumbled upon this gem at a local convention, then after checking it out at home realized its actually pretty nice, perhaps slab-worthy. I'm very curious as to what you guys think; I am very new to grading. Note: what looks like defects on mostly the black part on first scan, those are from the plastic sleeve.
