None of us have the resources to collect everything we want; all of us are forced to make choices. It’s a big world out there, and every genre we collect is at the cost of another. is there a book in your collection that, to you, is so representative of a genre that you can look yourself in the mirror and say “I’m done”? Is there a book in your collection that is so representative of a genre that you feel free to move on? I was big into WWII war covers, but realized very quickly I couldn’t get em all. So I’ve settled on my favorite cover and released the rest. Then, @Ricksneatstuff got me into GGA, and there I went, chasing a different flock of geese. @Gotham Kid got me into Pre-Robin Tecs, same result. Yesterday there appeared a thread about a piece of John Buscema art that had just sold on the Bay, and @delekkerste said “it’s the closest thing to a one-and-done piece you'll find that encapsulates an era”. It’s what gave me the idea for this topic. Anyway, below is the Buscema piece, followed by a couple of books that, for me, scratch the itch for a couple different genres, and releases me to turn my attention elsewhere. is there such a book in your collection? My favorite WWII war cover! my favorite GGA cover

I've gotten a couple nibbles, let's see if I can get a few real bites. I'm going to add some books and make some price cuts. I'm only going to leave this thread open until midnight tonight, then I will tuck most of these back in the pc and possibly auction a few... A well-respected boardie asked if I make bundle deals, and the answer is yes! If you are interested in multiple items, feel free to pm an offer. Thanks for looking! Here’s the fine print: CONUS only, unless we have agreed on other arrangements ahead of time. No PL/Hall of Shamers, or probies. The first “Take” wins. A definite "I'll take it" in the thread trumps pending negotiations. I'm sure most of you know the routine. Please review photos carefully and ask any questions beforehand. I will accept checks, or Paypal. Anything over $1,000 MUST be paid by check. Payments must be made within 7 days or the item goes back up for sale. If you have been nominated for probation for non-payment in the past, I will require immediate payment. SHIPPING: Unless a different method is agreed upon beforehand, shipping in the CONUS will be USPS Priority $20 for raw or graded books with both insurance and signature required. For bundle deals, we will have to work out something on shipping ahead of time. Again, U.S. only unless we talk first. Returns are fine within 7 days of receipt for raw books, but Buyer must cover return costs, and items must be returned in their original condition. Most of the comics will be sold in pairs, as shown. First up, we have a nice, uh, pair... of Cowgirl Romances from Fiction House, both in the Fine range. Issue #12 is a Canadian variant (last I checked, I could not find a copy on the census), and #7 (only 7 on census) features an eye-popping taillight cover. $850 FOR THE PAIR. KNOCK A $100 OFF THE TOP… $750 FOR TWO LOVELY COWGIRLS.

Hello! I have recently inherited some pretty cool comics. I am just learning about the CGC and about comic grading, slabbing, etc. I think I want to have them professionally graded and slabbed. I understand the process for the most part. I think I want to sell. I am nervous send them in the mail. I understand there are CGC authorized peoople in my area. Should I find a trusted CGC person to do this sending off for me, or should I give this a go myself? I also understand I could meet a CGC person at a comic con, but I think this only saves me shipping costs? What are your thoughts, and advise?

NO BUYER'S PREMIUMS — What you bid is what you pay! The Joel Shuster illustration on this cover is a classic of simplicity and dynamism and has eye appeal above its grade. It is important to note that this is only the third appearance of Superman on the cover of a comic and that there are just fourteen copies of this incredibly rare issue that have been certified unrestored by CGC. We almost never see the book on the marketplace let alone at auction - you can throw away the guide on this one! Also of note, this is only the third time that we have offered an unrestored example of this highly desirable and truly scarce tenth issue. Out of Superman's first three cover appearances, Action #10 has the fewest unrestored copies certified by CGC with a mere fifteen issues. With over forty unrestored copies of the mega key Action #1 and twenty-seven issues of Action #7, it's no surprise that Action #10 surfaces far less often. This issue is special in terms of it's significance as well as it's scarcity, and has a great pre-World War II cover with Superman destroying an enemy plane with one mighty punch! Serious Superman collectors already know how tough this early issue is. It should be noted, that an opportunity to acquire such a scarce and desirable issue like this one does not present itself often. Overstreet Guide 2018 VG- (3.5) value = $41,300. If you are a new customer planning to make a first-time purchase over $25,000, please contact us 24 hours in advance of the item closing at 212.895.3999 or support@comicconnect.com so that we may approve your account for bidding. (This policy was instituted to protect consignors and bidders against bids from fraudulent accounts, and to ensure the integrity of the bidding process.) Once approved, please log out of your account and then log in, for the approval to take effect. We realize many of you would like to bid on this auction lot, so for this listing, ComicConnect.com offers a 6 month, interest free, time payment plan with a 20% non-refundable deposit. Time Payments invoices can only be paid by cash, check, money order or wire transfer. LEARN MORE

First of all, thanks to those who purchased from me a few months ago AND for the nice Kudos. I've got another small variety of comic books for your browsing pleasure. The mix is wildly random. 1st “I'll Take It!” in the thread wins and trumps all private negotiations. NOTE: To maintain an even playing field, a simple “take” (but nothing shorter) will do. Make sure to quote the book you are taking. Payment by PayPal within 24 hours of invoice. (To avoid confusion, please do not rescind your take or swap with others on the thread.) Shipping in USA is $8 for a USPS Priority flat (up to 3 raw books) or $15 for a box (slabbed book or 4+ raws). For outside the U.S., PM me before taking. No returns on slabbed books, but for raw contact me within three days of receipt and send it back on your dime in the same shape. Of course, if I missed something important I'll pay for return shipping. No probation listers or HOSers.

I'll be searching for a decent Golden Age comic at the big convention this May with a WWII cover, preferably with a German cover. I really like the Marvel Mystery Comics title, but I'd be willing to also examine Captain America. Does MMC generally run more expensive than CA, or vice versa? Is one easier to find than the other? My budget will only go up to about $1200 - absolute max , and I really don't want to go under a 4.0 grade-wise.
