  1. 2018 May STAN LEE CGC Signing

As many of you know, Stan Lee has been getting older and as such signing opportunities are getting more rare. And getting books signed that are eligible for CGC Signature Series Grading is becoming more difficult. The exact date of this signing has not been determined BUT it WILL take place in May. This is NOT a convention signing. Desert Wind has been authorized to announce accepting books and will accept books up to the submission deadline, so submit now so you don't get caught by surprise and miss the signing. The price to get a book signed and CGC graded is $165.00 for a modern tier. That price includes grading of a modern tier book, our witnessing and handling fee and Stan’s signing fee. It does NOT include return shipping or the CGC $5.00 form fee. Please refer to the Celestial-comics.com website for other grading tiers and costs such as shipping and fast track fees. You must fill out a Celestial-Comics submission form found on our website to submit with any books submitted. There is NO limitations to the number of books submitted. If you wish to submit under your own CGC please contact Sharon. Books for these signings can get additional signatures on them depending on shows and other private signings that take place. Please contact Desert Wind regarding getting additional signatures on the book prior to Stan’s signing. We look forward to helping customers to get their books signed by Stan. We started the Stan CGC signings back in 2008 and are super excited to be able to continue this signing for fans and collectors alike. Please send all emails questions to Sharon@celestial-comics.com. I picked up a large stack of books for fair price. I hope that this was the first or many Plastic City Comic Cons. Big thanks to the organizers for making this such a nice event." "Plastic City was amazing! The crowd was happy, the vendors and artists were top notch. I will be at this event every time they have it. 10 star rating if fb allowed it." "Best Con of the year! Any freaking year!!! Keith (the promoter) has the perfect vision of what makes an old-school comic show work due to years of being in the trenches. I should know, I was there crying with him. He took that winning formula and applied it to what is wrong with shows today. The result is Plastic City Comic Con and the beginning of a new movement! BOOOOM!!!!!!"

  16. Ok, I'm pretty stoked right now!! I live in SoCal and am looking forward to the Long Beach Comic Expo. Some friends and I were looking for some stuff to do and I found this!!! https://www.facebook.com/DLSburlesque/photos/gm.416076655492472/1563492810353481/?type=3&theater I looked at their website and IG and found some hot pics. Ok, who's coming!?!?! Its the night before the show...I'm freaking stoked!!!
  17. Hey All! We're going to do a week before the Superbowl Sales Thread starting today and likely running all week. We'll do recaps every FIVE pages or so because we have a pretty huge pile of books to get through. Some good stuff, some mediocre stuff but there will be a LOT of books in the $1-$5 range as well as some nice Silver and Bronze books and maybe even a Golden Age book or two. We will be mixing in some vintage and newish toys and collectibles to keep it interesting and mostly-- we want to have some fun. The we is Andy, Joe and Adam Fish-- we sell under the eBay name RoboPicto and we have a Kudos thread here on the ol' boards. Some rules 1- No HOS or Probation Folks. 2- We are honest sellers, be honest buyers. Returns are acceptable if you think something isn't right-- but you pick up the return shipping, it must come back within 14 days and you must notify us within 3 of getting it before you return it and it must be in the same condition as we sent it out. 3-Domestic Shipping inside the 48 States will be $4.50 as a base and then multiples of that as you buy more books. But here's the deal-- we charge only what it costs to ship so you aren't paying any handling fees. Shipping has gotten a little expensive especially if you're on the West Coast (we are on the East Coast). We strongly suggest using PRIORITY MAIL because it gets to you fast and safe and you long forget about what you spent on shipping as you're awash in happy comic books, but if you want to go cheaper we can do that. Media mail don't work for comics kids, because there is advertising in it, but you've got the first class option up to 15 or so oz and Parcel Post if you're really hoping to save some dough and you're not in a hurry to get your books. 4- International Shipping (and this includes Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico) is more expensive. How much more? I dunno. But since we only charge what it costs to ship you're paying what it is. That's the best I can do. 5- Payment by Paypal, Personal Check (must clear first) or Postal Money Order are all acceptable forms of payment. Payment within 3 days of the invoice is requested but if you run up a large total and need more time that's something we'll happily talk about. 6- A TAKE IT trumps any negotiations by PM. 7- We'll do recaps every 5 pages to keep it easy to shop-- as said this is a pretty large lot of books and potentially could run several dozen pages. 8- Sale will start Sunday Jan 28th around 5pm Eastern time and we'll spread it out over a few days but we'll let you know in advance which days. 9- While we're happy to take PMs we don't check messages while we're posting so keep that in mind. We aren't going to be doing much discounting after post because whatever doesn't sell is going to move over to eBay (and we'll note that in the post). 10- Have fun, ask questions, stay tuned for some fun stuff, freebies for buyers, trivia, snacks and of course a musical number or two featuring the banana brothers.

  21. Looking for grading opinions on my holy grail slight discloration in bottom right corner of cover from improper storage. A few small spine cracks, a couple slightly blunted corners and a small dent on cover and back that i’m sure could be pressed out. Curious to know your opinions Thanks in advance!
  22. After several years hiatus and 2 children I am back to the hobby I have reduced my collection from 4 000 to around 500 and I will try to obtain some new books, but in order not to disturb the family budget I want to sell some of the more expensive ones for which I do not care any more. The problem is that I am not a professional grader and that is why I would need your help before listing it in eBay UK. I do not want to mislead the prospective buyer. Any help will be highly appreciated! The main problems which I see are: 1) the book is not centered and some of the pages are trimmed almost to the panels (there is no white spaces at the age of the page) and 2) the book is a little creased on the bottom right corner (cover and pages). The pages are creamy (not white, but not brown either). Thank you in advance!
  23. Just curious on thoughts on how this might grade. Front presents beautifully but that tear on the back is a killer
