I am new to card grading, I recently just sign up to CGC and plan on sending some cards to get graded. Can someone help guide me through the process and how do I buy shipping insurance? Is it better to shipped with FedEx or USPS? Thank you.

Hello, I recently received a few hundred or so old comics from a relative, with the intention of selling them for him, but I'm very much at a loss as to what will sell, and what will not. I think there's a few valuable ones, from looking at ebay sellers, as they are first issues, but I have no idea as to how to identify, grade and sell them? I have a high number of "Fantastic", "The Mighty Thor", "Doctor Strange Master of the Mystic Arts", "Captain America and Falcon", "The Invincible Iron Man", "The Titans", "X-Men", and a number of assorted 1st issue Atlas Comics such as "The Phoenix", "The Cougar" and "Son of Dracula" (and more) if that helps any. I'd really appreciate some help with all this, he's hoping that some of it is at least worth something, considering he's kept them, (and most in pretty good condition) from the 70's. I hope someone can help a newbie out! Thank you!

Hi, Guys, I'm new to the world of comics. I recently bought the whole run of marvel godzilla online. I was planning to grade the whole run. I noticed color on one of the covers . It looks like someone colored some areas in. Could this be an printing error and the color has moved into other areas. Or has somone restored the book in an amiture way? I would hate to get a purple lable. Please let me know what you guys think 🤔

New to grading and trying to figure out what the condition would be on this. The rest of it looks great minus two small color breaking spine ticks on the front cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello smart people! Just got back two of my John Wick 1s (A and B variant) as 9.8s. Awesome, I know. BUT... I noticed a lot of white dots on the back black cover. This doesn't seem normal. It's like someone took a sponge with white paint and blotted the cover. Hard to tell, but it looks like whatever compound used with encapsulation is on the book now. (but I could be totally wrong) Is anyone familiar with this defect? Have you seen this before? Would hate for this to get sent back, reopened, and receive a lower grade. Please advise! Thank you

Newbie needing help. Probably a stupid questions but not exactly sure what the TLR is referring to, and I'm assuming it means on the outermost box. And I'm guessing it is in relation to writing the initials of the signer on all sides. 2nd question: I'm not familiar with what the private signing cards are either? 3rd question: I was assuming that all the Ronin submissions for the signing event would come with the custom label as part of the special event, given the way it was described. Now I'm concerned that I may have had to request the custom label during submission. If this is the case, is there a way to still request that? Sorry for my lack of knowledge and thank you all for your time, patience, and understanding with the newbie!!! Have a blessed day

I sent in my first book 3/4/2021 to get Graded, the tracking said the received it 3/8/2021. Signed by a R. Brammber. I’m not expecting it to be done right away, I’m patient. However, I would like to know they received it. When I go to check status it says I have no Submissions...Is it in a stack of packages waiting to get opened still?

First time submission for myself and I'm just making sure I get this correct before going forward in the submission form. In the bulk submission, do all cards need to be a max declared value of $100 or can they vary and the price per card just reflect that max value? I have various values of cards and just want to make sure I can or can't send a max value card of higher than $100 in a bulk submission. Thanks.

Hello! I am a first time submitter and had a few questions. I have looked through the website and may be missing the information, but is there a breakdown of what the tier levels mean? The Modern, Value, and Economy tiers to be specific. As far as tracking my submissions - will the status be updated in the submission tracking as the comics move to the next part of the grading process? I assume the received step is the longest one, but what is the time frame like after the comics have been received to when they are finished? I understand that turnaround times can vary day to day, just looking for an approximate. Thank you!

Just wondering when sending in signed copies of comics I’m planning on sending in some that I purchased from midtown do I submit the COA when I send them in?

If this information is posted in another forum, please just direct me to that. Is there a good resource for understanding all of the options when submitting books to CGC? A good walkthrough on how to submit? I have watched a couple of videos, but they are pretty basic and just say, chose this, click this, etc. They don't explain what all the options are. Here are the items I am currently unsure of: What is the box on the "Enter Comic Info" page that says "Has Pedigree"? When do you select that? What is the difference between all the grading tiers? For example, why would I pick "Value" over "Modern"? To me, value sounds like a tier for if you want to get a discount, but maybe it will take longer to get your book, or there is some other service that won't be included. But Value cost more than Modern. If I want to submit a comic that is older than 1975, is the cheapest option "Economy"? Does the "Value" tier of quick press not have a minimum requirement? Can I choose that and pay more per issue, but not have to submit 15 books? What is "Image" for $5? Is that a scan of my book before it is slabbed? After it is slabbed? Is that in a database I can access at any time, or is it sent to me as an attachment? On a somewhat unrelated note, I signed up for my CGC account about a month ago. As part of my membership I was supposed to get a large shipper kit with my membership, and have yet to receive anything. Does anyone have any idea how long it takes to get that? Sorry again if these questions are addressed somewhere else. Thank you to anyone that can help me out as a new first time submitter.

I was wondering if all the Comics I sent in that are new and getting signed like Venom 1 by Ryan and Donny, the variant A , Tyler Kirkham cover. It’s already been graded and sent back at 9.8. I sent it to get signed In less then a week after the graded 9.8 came back from CGC and did the CCS pressing on it. Is doing the CCS nessisary

I just purchased Infinity Gauntlet 1-6 on eBay and having received them today, I am afraid I may have been misinformed as to the condition of the comics. The seller description claimed that these comics were "near mint," and as "close to mint" as possible, considering the age of the comics. I wasn't under the impression that these would be in pristine, mint condition, but the spinal wear on about half of the comics is considerable, i.e. it is noticeable at first glance, and although I am not a professional grader, I would consider this to be significant. So my question is, what would "significant" or "considerable" spinal wear amount to in your opinions for comics of this age, and how detrimental might this be with regard to the value of these comics? Thank you in advance for your insights.

Paid for "Fast Track Modern", does that guarantee receiving submission of one comic within less than 30 days?

I love reading and collecting comics, been at it since I was a kid growing up in the 90's. I have a bunch of books that have appreciated in raw value. The idea of getting them graded to enter into the competitive set registry is my motivation here. I've read over much of the material about how to submit and my membership permits me to submit. However, I still feel as though I am missing something in understanding what type of content is appropriate to submit for grading. How much raw value appreciation percent is enough to justify a sumbit? Is a 4:1 variant cover something that would benefit from a grading? How about a book that only ran 8000 prints? I will do my research on books that have grades and see what specifications they have in common, but I would appreciate any advice or guidance from experienced members here. Happy hunting.
