Hi, Guys, I'm new to the world of comics. I recently bought the whole run of marvel godzilla online. I was planning to grade the whole run. I noticed color on one of the covers . It looks like someone colored some areas in. Could this be an printing error and the color has moved into other areas. Or has somone restored the book in an amiture way? I would hate to get a purple lable. Please let me know what you guys think 🤔

I recently bought this great copy of a iron man and submariner 1 and found that when it came it had extremely jagged right hand side of the comic and that it was not perfectly cut was just wondering if you guys think this comic was miscut or trimmed?

Hi everyone I recently bought a copy of fantastic four 52. When it arrived it looked to me like it had been trimmed. I'm really concerned as I was planning to get this graded (I'm very new to grading) it took me so long to save to buy this book and so I would like to reach out to you all and see if anyone can see evidence of trimming. I suspect it has been trimmed down the right side of the cover. I know books are often mis wrapped during this era but I'm not sure if this falls in to that. And expertise anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all I have this CGC graded (restored) 6.0 FF5. Here are the graders notes: Restoration includes: small amount of color touch on cover. (ALL 3 EDGES TRIMMED) Color touch (Non-archival material small areas) Spine C-1 Full Bottom Whole Book TRIMMED Full Left Back Cover Large Crease Full Right Whole Book TRIMMED Full Top Whole Book TRIMMED Left Top Back Cover Multiple Crease Spine Lite Stress Lines What do the experts think about sending it in for pressing and regrading? I'm pretty sure there's no max label for trimmed books. Is there something that's holding it back from a higher apparent (8.0-9.0 ish) restored grade? I know that everyone says this but it looks much better to me. Thanks! P.S. Great forums you guys have here, so much useful information.

Just got notification from CCS that a GA book I got decades ago has been trimmed, had some color work done and had other restoration done. My untrained eye had no idea. Question: should I go ahead and have it graded? My inclination is yes since it’s a GA book with a Cap/Bucky cover (u.s.a. Comics 14) and fewer than 30 graded copies, including one restored version, but since I’m somewhat new to grading, I wanted to get some opinions. Ironically, even with whatever was done to it, i can’t imagine it’s going to fall above a 4.

Hi. I’m after some guidance. I understand how much cgc comics are worth and how to follow these, but when restored how does this affect the value? Mainly with respect to how much restoration has taken place? For example my comic JLA 1 restored to cgc 4.0. Any help and guidance would be appreciated.

Hello everybody !! I've been toying with the idea of getting a nice KEY book this year. Vacillating a bit between ASM 1 and X-Men 1. I want both. I saw this nice looking (to me) restored copy of ASM 1 in CGC restored 8.0 today. "Restoration includes : Color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cleaned, reinforced" It's a nice looking book for the price. It was slabbed way back in 2002, so it has the designation of "Apparent VF 8.0 Moderate P" Which would probably be equivalent to A2/3 or B2/3. One nice thing for a restored book is that it does NOT have the cover re-glossed. The price is 9250. (+250 shipping) Fine 8.0 in Overstreet PriceGuide 47 lists it at 17000.00. That works out to 55% the price of an 8.0. Seems like a decent deal and I would be holding for a few years at least. Any opinions or advice appreciated. bests JL Here is the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-1-CGC-8-0-Silver-Age-March-1963-Key-Grail-Comic-Classic/322990198617? and a photo:

I'm debating buying a high dollar ASM1 on ebay, and have a question about my rights if I choose to have it graded after I receive it. As we all know, the comic could have restoration (glue on spine, light color touch etc) on it that is very had to detect with the naked eye, and the seller is unaware of... or knows of and is choosing not to admit. So if the seller lists the item, says nothing about restoration either way, and I buy it and it looks good to the naked eye...but I then have it graded by CGC, and it comes back purple label, would I still be able to dispute it through ebay if it's within 30 days? Anyone have any experience with this situation? I would think this falls under 'SOL' because I chose to have it graded and he made no guarantees it wasn't restored. But on the other hand I could also possibly see it falling under 'not as described' since it's restored and I didn't knowingly purchase a restored comic. I appreciate any feedback and would love to know if anyone has come across this situation before and what Ebay's stance would be. Thanks!!

Hey guys,My BFF that got me into comic books (uh, 30 years ago now? woah ) is looking to sell his X-Men #1 with a Stan Lee Sig. He bought it raw and I got sick at ECCC this year so I couldn't help him look for restoration ahead of time. So he'd like to sell it, he's asking $2,100 $2,000 shipped. He'd like to ship to the USA only, if you are international, I can ask if he'd be open to shipping to for exact cost and insurance. As for the label remarks, it reads: "Restoration includes: small amount of color touch on cover, small amount of glue on spine of cover." As you can see from the pics, she's a solid book, presents very well! Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want more pics or want more information about the book and I'd be happy to discuss. Thanks guys! Jerome
