Well, Jerrry Robinson, Joe Simon, And Dan DeCarlo were all eliminated in the last round. As per the previous poll: VOTE OFF YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THREE ARTISTS. The poll will be active for 48 hours like the previous three. Results will be shown immediately this time around. Let's see how that works out.

I'd say at this point there's no easy choices anymore, because there's really no one left who clearly didn't belong in a list of top GA artists. So for me it just comes down to personal preference (or dislike, as the case may be) now. Therefore, my votes this round went to LB Cole, Alex Schomburg and Basil Wolverton.

I picked Frazetta, Schomburg, and Walt Kelly, these 3 artist were revolutionary.

Uh, you do realize that if you voted FOR these 3 artists, it means you voted to kick them out, right?

Kurtzman,Beck and Kamen for me.

doh! I somehow overlooked Kamen's name! I meant to vote him off this round if he survived the last round, as I would classify him as not having deserved to be in this list in the first place.

I have great respect for everyone left on the list, and while Kamen wouldn't make it into my top ten, I like his style - very clean and effective. Outside of Beck, whose talent is obvious, but has a style a bit too simple for my taste and I'd voted to eliminate last round, I had a hard time this round.

See, that's kind of what I mean. The threatened Spaceman I can readily understand. He's a "Stranger In A Strange Land", all about him new and possibly fatal situations.

Around his feet seem to be skeletons - a sure sign of danger. What could this peril be?

Then there is the threat. Aliens drawn in a "big-foot" style that just doesn't send a chill up my spine. They just look, well, goofy.

I actually had to look hard at this cover due to the spaceships and rocket trails zooming away in the background. The way Wolverton has drawn them I thought at first they were some strange antennae attached to the "monster's" head. They do seem to attach to about the same point on two different heads.

Anyway, it's all just funnybooks, and I did like his "Ugliest Women In the World" series.

At least then I knew he was trying to be amusing.

I can't say that I'm surprised that it was Dan DeCarlo who joined Simon and Robinson off the list. However, I fear it was more due to lack of knowledge / familiarity with his work than any informed decision ... Oh well. I was surprised to see how many votes Reed Crandall received. He was too close to elimination. I might have to post some of his primo work to shore up his survival chances ...

As for Wolverton, I'll let Shiverbones defend him. I have to recuse myself from that. I appreciate the artistry but it doesn't do much for me in general. Here's a good one though -
