whoa whoa whoa.

we're getting some confused assistants here.

the goal of the list is to find keys (or a reasonable facsimile thereof where no true keys are available) that correspond to a number from 1 to 100, not to list the top 100 keys of the SA.

which is why MGA 80 is in the 80 slot, not Showcase 80.

Showcase 4 trumps FF4, which is why it is in the #4 slot.

obviously, i am not refering to Selegue here, even though that's who i quick replied to

BigD- I think you kind of missed the basis for numbering the issues. It's not so much a Top 100 list as it is simply listing keys in order by issue. I've highlighted a few that were out of place as an example. If you look at the original list Cap and I were working off of (and Catrick started), you'll see what I'm talking about. (thumbs u

Its not even all about value but importance. X-Men 12 and FF 12 are more important than MSH 12 by light years, and ASM 13 is much more important than Sgt Fury 13

A first appearance of a key character IMO trumps a good villain and a good crossover. Capt marvel (while not in the same costume I'll grant) was every bit as key a character as Daredevil, especially in the 70's. Think of all the cosmic storylines and great Stalin run as well as the impact with Death of..

Issue 13, I just think with Fury having so few keys and Spidey so many you have to throw him a bone. Plus Mysterio, c'mon. Quick - name is 2nd and 3rd appearance. Who else did he fight besides Spidey? See. Not that important a character. (still a sweet book by itself)

Green Lantern 8 has the first appearance of the World Wrestling Gila Monster Federation, and a sweet washtone cover, but i can't think of any other potential contenders right now

And I can't believe the best issue 8 is 1st Kang, it trumps showcase 8 but isn't there another one?

Your right.

Showcase 8 should trump Avengers 8, since it's worth about 50 times as much.

lol

And what's all those BA issues doing up there guys?

Unless 15 and 20 centers are SA now? :baiting:

2nd appearance ASM Ann 1 and 3rd appearance... I think was ASM 24 but not in costume. Just shooting off the hip here :)

I like the Xmen 12 and FF 12 better but Captain Marvel Is Super Key as it gave Marvel comics the rights to the name giving DC " the big up yours" .and relegating a certain Fawcett Character to an ignoble name.

Sgt Fury 13 should get the spot over Spiderman even though Mysterio is my favorite Spidey Villain.
