Amazing Fantasy #15 Club

Thank you my friends, I am very pleased with this book. The condition of the book is exactly what you look for in a VFNM copy, all in all the appearance is excellent. The stress lines are not the kind that the typical 9.4+ books have, they are the reason it's a VFNM. Unrestored it really was around a 8.5/9.0 before they messed with it. Regards,

AMAZING FANTASY CGC 4.0 $5,500 on c-link

Kind of a strong selling price, considering that this book is CR-OW and a White paged 4.0 sold for only $32 more fairly recently on the same site. Of course, both of those are down $700 from the only other 4.0 result listed on Clink from this year...

Yeah, I can see that point. I prefer unchipped too, but with all the PQ junkies I still would have expected the WP to reign.

I totally agree. Great eye appeal 4.0 have sold in the north of $6-8K back in 2008-2009. I was contemplating of purchasing the 4.0, but it sold so quickly.

Just a couple a years ago, wasnt an AF15 4.0 an up towards 10Kish book (shrug)

Record price on GPA is $6,573 from May 2009. Although there could have been some CLink sales that aren't included...

While I cannot say with authority that multiple slabbed 4.0s did not sell for $6-8k in 2008-2009, GPA data shows sales during that period were between $4150 - $6573, the latter price being the all-time high as Loki already pointed out.

I also cannot say much about long term pricing, but don't put too much importance on the GPA data. They don't collect a large portion of total sales.

The sales on forums like this, and dealers everywhere, they can't be easily quoted but they are very important. It would take a person who pays very close attention to these kinds of sales to suggest trends that GPA doesn't. I think there are likely a lot of people on these boards who can accurately identify pricing trends better than GPA, by the close watching of the non GPA sales.

An easy example is the sales of ASM 13 recently, in grades 9.0-9.2. GPA shows only two sales this year for both grades, yet the ASM experts can tell you that several have sold besides those, and for a ton more money than the GPA suggests. Sales go in cycles based on supply and demand, more than just the economy. The pricing data is only a guideline, a very rough incomplete picture. Regards,

GPA is a great tool for sure, but not the whole market. Supply and demand is the key as Peter Loves Gwen stated. Also, not all copies are created equal in grades...same as plods.

Here's a price list I made last year and it was posted here before in the AF15 club. The market is a bit stronger now for better eye appeal AF15's then last year.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's my price list for unrestored Amazing Fantasy 15 with nice eye appeal and very minimal chipping and are at least cream to off-white pages. Of course, page quality will add a premium 5%-10%.

9.2 $180000-225000

9.0 $120000-140000

8.5 $80000-90000

8.0 $52000-60000

7.5 $45000-50000

7.0 $29000-32000

6.5 $20000-25000

6.0 $15000-18000

5.5 $12000-13000

5.0 $ 8500-10000

4.5 $6800-7500

4.0 $5200-6200

3.5 $4300-4800

3.0 $3700-4100

2.5 $3200-3500

2.0 $2800-3000

1.8 $2500-2700

1.5 $2100-2400

1.0 $1700-2000

5.0 copies have recently sold for $10K.

If the 5.0 has no marvel chipping I believe

I just know that I saw 5.0 sales on Clink recently at that level. But now that they are sweeping results off their pages more quickly (and some don't ever even show up) that data is gone. I can't recall for sure if there was chipping, but I would doubt there was.

Reason why I made that statement is because recently a 5.0 with chipping sold for about $8050 (Filter's copy) and before that another one sold also with chipping for about $8300 (I believe it was the fire mountain copy)
