I hate MC but for a book like AF15,FF1 or Hulk1 it wouldn't be a deal breaker for the right price. 60k though is a pretty premium price for a 7.5! I don't care how nice the rest of the book is, for 60 freaking k I wouldn't want a bunch of MC (thumbs u

The top two books on that list are the same, apparently it got relabeled once the Twin Cities ped was recognized. If you look at the top and right edge they are clearly the same books (Edit: also just noticed that the serial numbers are the same). So Heritage only has 2 up for auction.

Our idea of prices might be clearer if not for the 20% buyer premium through Heritage. I know I don't bid as high as I might when using their site because I have to factor in that extra bite.

Clink also has a 5.5 in the April auction that is a gorgeous OW-W copy but has some significant chipping. It'll add to the price data generated by Heritage to give us a market update.

The price is the price - whether 20% is added at the end at auction or sold on eBay or a direct sale - it's part of the price. If it sells for 10K + 2K juice - the price is 12K not 10K + the juice and would be cited as such. The "extra bite" is not extra - it's part of the price. When you buy an item at a store - the cost is not the price on the tag, it's the price on the tag plus the sales tax. You factor that in when you buy the item because that is the cost of the item.

Ditto, it's the final price. The CLink prices use an inclusive fee, and Heritage separates the total from the inclusive fee by making buyers deal with the pre-fee pricing. They both have an inclusive fee, the total includes it, but Heritage makes a big deal out of the fee through their bidding process.

Do they think people will accidentally bid the real value and get stuck paying 20% more? I've been close before, a long time ago, but I watch the figures and do the math.

The Clink fee is not inclusive. If you do not pay with a check they tack on an extra 3% during checkout. Otherwise you pay whatever your bid price was. So in effect the prices realized on Clink are probably shy by 3% because they don't automatically add the premium.

I understand where you are coming from with Heritage. The buyer premium is added from the getgo, and they calculate it in every time you bid so it is right there what you will pay. I guess for me it is psychological, because if I type in $100 for a bid Heritage tells me that what I am really typing is $120. It may just be me, but that feels like an extra bite is tacked on. Yes, the price is the price regardless.

I think the 1.8 on clink will raise the bar on the low end foshizzle. A record high is my prediction.

Anyone know why this is a 1.8 book? (shrug) There aren't any comments on the label, such as "missing pages" or "cover detached". Did this book get hosed by CGC or what? (shrug)

buy the book not the label--I'll take the 6.0 over the 6.5

I like the 6.5. I agree that the general eye appeal of the 6.0 is higher, but then there is that long crease and I try to avoid creases like the plague. It all depends on what you can put up with and what bugs you, and if I bought the 6.0 all I would see is the crease.
