I think we will see more copies of this book come up for sale now as longtime collectors/overextended speculators are forced to sell to make ends meet. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain the high prices.

I don't have GPA but have tracked some sales.

Before the prices started going haywire:

4.0 (OWW) 4,199 ComicLink 12/18/07

4.0 (OW) 3,979 ComicLink 3/11/08

Then the increases...

4.0 (OW) 4,550 ebay 5/10/08

3.5 (OW) 5,500 ebay 8/14/08

4.0 (OW) 6,601 ComicLink/Focused Auction 8/26/08

4.0 (OWW) 7,605 ComicLink/Focused Auction 11/18/08

4,0 (CRM/OW) 5,953 ebay 12/1/08

Perhaps some settling down? Here's two sales from the last week:

3.5 (CRM/OW) 4,300 ebay 1/25/09

4.0 (CRM/OW) 5,311 ComicLink/Focused Auction 1/27/09

I realize this is only 9 sales but it gives you at least a glimpse...and someone soon I'm thinking will post the GPA for AF #15 in 3.5 and 4.0.

I think the 8.5 copy that is coming up Pedigree/Comiclink or its it Comicconnect looks better than the 9.2. Its an old label stunner, I bet it will fetch $100,000 and be resubbed for a higher grade soon after its purchased. I'd be happy to own a nice raw mid grade copy from the sales proceeds of a high grade copy.

This book is going to be tested in the next month. We have a bunch of legitimate copies out there that should bring down big numbers.

Heritage 9.2 Ep

Pedigree 9.2 Blue

Comic Link

8.5

7.0

5.0

3.5

2.0

Any estimates on these. Will Doug's copy crack 200K.

I would actually think that the low end copies would hold up in the next couple of years than the high end. AF15 in high grade is getting up to tulip mania proportions and will soon hit levels than no one but the best heeled collector can afford.

Well, when you consider restored copies in 0.5 have been going for prices from $1250-$1500... I'd say this book has been hitting "tulip mania proportions" at all grades. 2c

Well I picked up my AF 15 the other day. Here is a scan of the front cover. It isn't a high grade copy but I'm very happy to have it.
