Picked these up this morning for $2 a pop at a used book store - very nice midgrade+ copies. Unfortunately the $2 stickers are on the books themselves so I'm debating the risk/reward of attempting to remove them.

Removing the stickers shouldn't be an issue if done correctly, but if they've been on there awhile the adhesive may have reacted with the cover stock so you may have a discolored area underneath.

sort of curious what the other 300 books you left behind were or why you skipped them. Was it condition, type or some other reason. Incredible pick up though.

Lighter fluid works well (without the flame!) But if the stickers are new you might not need it

The ones I left were mostly low grade Dells that I already have, a lot of Gene Autry, Roy Rogers. Some Fawcett Westerns, again low grade and ones I already own.

Bought my first decently sized collection over the weekend, though it's mostly 90s "drek". I haven't ran any wanted posts for over a year but an older gentleman called me on one that he had saved from way back then. I had myself convinced the 1.5 hour drive was not going to be worth it but it worked out alright. Paid a little more than I wanted but still got a decent enough deal. A little under 5 long boxes and 3 short boxes. Mostly VF ish, some better some worse. Boxes luckily took the brunt of the discoloration as much was in mylars or at least bagged and boarded.

Highlights are pictured. The rest is full of ~ 50 to 200 issues runs of mostly 80s and 90s Marvel.. the runs that the keys were in of course.. and a few others like Elementals and Nightbreed.  I've counted 11 copies now of X-men #1 (1991) O.o

Spent about an hour yesterday digging through a ton of long boxes at an antique mall where everything was $2... was tough to tear myself away because there were a bunch of Batman Adventures littered in throughout so I was holding out hope for a No. 12 to no avail.

That said, was still pleased to find this minor gem - a solid 9.2 or better:
