Books #1-8, 11 and 14 are more or less similar in condition and are mid-grade or higher. I believe this group of books to be in the 6.0 to 7.0 range.

The rest of the books were picked up from local stores and a few from eBay to complete this collection. Books #9, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are lower grades that range from 3.0 to 4.0, the worst one being #13 which has a tape pull right on issue number.

Included in this lot are:

Silver Surfer #1 is the worst of the best with wear along edges and small creases at the bottom right hand corner. The spine is reinforced with tape cleanly applied that it's almost invisible. The pages are cream to off-white with no major defects beyond what can be seen in the scan.

Silver Surfer #2 has some mild signs of handling. The pages are supple, are are probably cream to off-white. Please note the small date within the "S" of Silver written in pen.

Silver Surfer #3 is a key issue with the first appearance of Mephisto and is the best book in this lot. Wear is minimal and minor with cream to off-white pages inside.

Silver Surfer #4 is also a key issue due to it’s low print run. The cover has a small 5mm tear on the top edge just above the price and a light fold line on the bottom right corner that barely breaks ink. The interior pages are cream to off-white.

Silver Surfer #5 is does not have any deep creases but the cover is a little rougher than the previous issues. There is general wear due to handling and natural aging but it does not have any tears and lays flat. Inside pages are smooth and cream to off-white.

Silver Surfer #6 has very small 1mm nicks at the bottom right edge. Wear is minimal, lays flat with cream to off-white interior pages.

Silver Surfer #7 has a slightly blunted bottom left corner. The cover is supple with mild signs of wear overall. Interior pages are cream to off-white.

Silver Surfer #8 is the first in this series that has saddle stitch binding, where as the previous books were square bound. There is some mild scuffing next to the top staple, very mild wear overall wear, the cover is slightly more tan than previous books and yet the interior is slightly more white.

Silver Surfer #9 is the first of the lower grades with a spine that clear shows wear. There are creases near the top right corner and the back cover has some light dirt making the page appear to be lightly tanned. As well, the center spread has unhinged itself at the top staple but the book remains in tact over all.

Silver Surfer #10 has spine wear, some light scuffing at the top of the cover and some light creases near the bottom right. Center spread is in tact with cream to off white interior pages. The back cover has a similar dirty appearance as #9.

Silver Surfer #11 is a nice looking book with mild signs of wear along the spine and bottom edge. Interior pages are off-white and the book lays flat.

Silver Surfer #12 is another low grade similar to #10 and #9 with spine wear and some small crease at the bottom right corner. The back cover is cleaner then #10 and #9 but is creased at the top left corner. The center spread is detached at the top staple and the interior pages are cream to off-white.

Silver Surfer #13 is the worst of the lot due to a tape pull right on the issue #. There is heavy wear along the spine as well as the right edge. The cover is split about 1" at the bottom spine. The inside pages are surprisingly white with the center spread firmly attached.

Silver Surfer #14 is a not a key book but very sought after due Spider-Mans appearance. Luckily, this book is in nice shape with a supple cover, tight staples and minimal spine stress. Inside pages are off-white to white and the center spread is firmly attached.

Silver Surfer #15 has the Human Torch making an appearance. Although this book does not have the obvious signs of wear like visible creases, the overall book is rough. The staples are tight and all the pages are firmly attached but there is some light staining that run through the bottom edge of the inside pages.

Silver Surfer #16 marks the return of Mephisto. Spine stress, wear along the edges, and a dirty back cover are the principle faults here. There is also a 5mm tear or scratch on the back cover, about 1.5" down from the top edge just off of the spine.

Silver Surfer #17 has a cover that is detached at the top staple and has a 1.5" split right at the center of the spine. The center spread is firmly attached and the inside pages are off-white. Nick Fury and his merry men of SHIELD make an appearance.

Silver Surfer #18 is the final issue in this classic series where the Surfer must face the Inhumans. This issue also marks the return of Jack Kirby as artist. The spine has a 1/2" tear at the center. The back cover is again dirty and has small cut at the top edge. Center spread is firmly attached with off-white interior pages.
