Tape as restoration?

2 posts in this topic

Standard tapes are obviously not restoration as seen in many CGC books that just note the tape. Do some tapes get a restoration label like those that have no acid in the glue used for scrapbooking etc? I have seen some that look just like scotch tape etc., but are more archival (no acids, used for pictures etc) so they don't destroy the paper, but someone said they thought CGC might list that tape with a purple label???? Is that true? I sure hope not as that is a bad incentive to use tape that destroys books vs. tape that helps preserve books when they otherwise are similar in every other way.

I sure hope you can clear this up for me. Thanks in advance!
