SPARKLE CITY ANNOUNCES ACTION COMICS #10 CGC 3.0 COURT COPY IN SEPT 16TH AUCTION

8 posts in this topic

Sparkle City Comics is proud to offer the one-of-a-kind Court Copy example of Action Comics #10.

Action Comics #10 is the hardest of the early Actions with Superman covers to find in unrestored condition. This copy has beautiful eye appeal for the grade and has off-white to white pages. What makes this copy unique is the fact that on March 15, 1939 DC Comics brought a copyright infringement lawsuit against Fox, due to the character's similarities to Superman, as well as story and illustration elements that were similar to previous Superman adventures. This exact example was exhibit #12 in that historic case.

The court copy of Action Comics #1 is restored and the court copy of Action Comics #7 is not certified which makes this copy the earliest Superman cover that is a Universal holder of the court copies.

This one of a kind historic issue will be offered NO RESERVE in our upcoming September 16th auction.

We will have a scan of the comic in its CGC case tomorrow. It was just graded today and is in a CGC holder for the first time.
